Five on Friday Set 140

I heard my favorite song of all time on the radio today.  So I selected it as the lead track in Set 140...songs from 1971.

I really like all 5 of these tunes, but there's just something about Sweet City Woman that got into my bones when I was 7 years old.  I hear it, and I'm that silly little boy making my sister giggle.

May you find love and tenderness and macaroons!

Sweet City Woman, written by Rich Dodson, as released by The Stampeders

Me and Bobby McGee, written by Kris Kristofferson/Fred Foster, as released by Janis Joplin

Day After Day, written by Pete Ham, as released by Badfinger

Don't Pull Your Love, written by Dennis Lambert/Brian Potter, as released by Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds

Vincent, written and released by Don McLean

  1. These are all great - definitely "ear worm" quality of songs you can't forget. Almost impossible to pick a favorite, but guess I have to go with Janice.

Me? Put me down for Vincent. Don McLean is truly a poet. And this is set to an absolutely beautiful melody. Haunting and lovely.
