Welcome to Peace Week, Day 3

Continuing to send my best wishes to the people impacted by Sandy the Super Storm.  She's quite the beast.

In July, Pam and I spent two weeks in Arizona visiting the folks.  During one cruise up to Jerome, we found a neat 1950s style diner on the other side of the hill and had lunch.  Next door to the diner was a huge antique store.  After lunch we took a little stroll through some cool displays.

As we were browsing, Pam spotted an old peace sign poster.  Nearby I saw a display of vintage toys.  I saw toy trains and GI Joe and the little green army guys I used to love as a kid.  And then, in one of those early twilight zone moments that I've come to expect during the run up to Blog Blast Day, tucked away in the corner of the display...a box of 100 small pink dolls.

Seriously. The very same little dolls that Mimi wrote about.  And not far from the doll box...the tricky dog magnets.

Seriously.  I didn't have my phone or my camera with me, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Signs.  Omens.  Coincidence.

I don't know from that stuff.  All I know is that symbols are important.  Those little pink dolls are powerful symbols of this movement.  They came from Mimi's Papa.  Mimi shared them with the rest of us.

Symbolism...is inherent in the very texture of human life.  Alfred North Whitehead

Reason 3:   Because of posts like this one, The Doll Box

We speak on one subject with one voice on one day. Won't you join us? You have a voice; how will you use it? Check in at Mimi Writes or at the Peace Globe Gallery for all the details you need to make your Peace Globe and join your voice to the movement.

Join us. You know you want to.

I believe that words have power, so this matters.

  1. We see those little dolls, or something similar, in King cakes at Mardi Gras. Baby Jesus. Supposed to be.

  1. Mimi's story was so tender. Looking forward to another Dona Nobis Pacem

The dolls are dancing. They surely are. No coincidence.
