Five on Friday Set 146

Blog Blast for Peace is just 2 days away.  Now would be a good time to do a Peace Five on Friday.

But I already did that for 2012 with Set 142.  I suppose I could do another Set with songs about peace.

How about coming at it in a different way?  For Set 146, I've decided to feature songs that make me feel peaceful, relaxed, and calm.  You won't find the word peace in the lyrics.  In fact, the lyrics may not be particularly peaceful, relaxed, or calm.

It's the music that I find soothing.

Please enjoy my peaceful tunes, and join us on Sunday for Blog Blast Day.

Everybody Hurts, written by Michael Stipe/Mike Mills/Peter Buck/Bill Berry, released by R.E.M. in 1993

Drift Away, written by Mentor Williams, released by Dobie Gray in 1973

Dock of the Bay, written by Steve Cropper/Otis Redding, released by Otis Redding in 1968

Ballerina, written by Graham Goble/Beeb Birtles, released by Little Riber Band in 1981

Wish You Were Here, written by David Gilmour/Roger Waters, released by Pink Floyd in 1975

  1. Wonderful choices. This week the favorite is Drift Away ... One of my favorite "just take a vacation on the music" songs.

  1. I'm not sure if I've heard Ballerina before - I'll check it out once I get home from work.

    Happy Peace Week, Travis.
