Welcome to Peace Week, Day 4

Just a few more days until we blog for peace.  It's a good thing I have tomorrow off.  I need to clear my head and settle things down so my Peace Muse can start musing.

Today I've decided to share with you a sonnet I wrote two years ago.

I think often of the path toward peace,
And in that thinking my mind cannot grasp
The length and breadth to which it is deceiv'd.
Simple seems my goal and not much to ask.
To put aside enmity; to be one
In this world with those like and not like me.
Yet why do I feel my hope is undone?
Why do I feel adrift in a gray sea?
Can love for all trump fear of difference?
Or is man's future lock'd behind borders?
A sad state indeed, this world lacking sense.
The sameness of man hides beneath cultures.
And so I look inward for my lost way,
Serene in mind if only for today.

That'll do just fine.

It's not enough that we learn to unmake war.  We must learn to remake peace.  Mimi Lennox

Reason 2: Because of posts like this one, Papa's Marbles, The Silence of Peace.
This is the story of how it all began.

We speak on one subject with one voice on one day. Won't you join us? You have a voice; how will you use it? Check in at Mimi Writes or at the Peace Globe Gallery for all the details you need to make your Peace Globe and join your voice to the movement.

Join us. You know you want to.

I believe that words have power, so this matters.
