Five on Friday Set 158

I'm guided by 103.7 The Mountain again this week.  It's been a rough month so far.  I've been too busy at work.  Pam has been too busy at work.  The weather has been crappy - more about that in a later post.

But things are beginning to turn around.  The 49ers are in the Super Bowl.  YAY!  And I've got a Big Cool Thing coming up this weekend.  More about that later.

For now, it's 1981.  That's the year I graduated from high school.  Billy Squier leads us off, because I heard this song on the radio Monday and it's been an ear worm ever since.

And we've got a new player this week, thanks to our pal Cherie at C'est Mois Trois.  She found this Grooveshark gizmo, and so far it looks like a good alternative to videos.  I found all the songs I wanted for this week, so that's a plus.  It's easy to use...another plus.

Let's give it a try.  Thanks Cherie!

Have a great weekend gang!

While I can't say that I liked much of the 80's music I always enjoy a little rockabilly, so I did enjoy Stray Cats!

Hope you and Pam can both de-stress and relax soon!

The 60s/70s were more my era so I don't really know any of those.

  1. I like all of these except "Rock this Town." For some reason that one really gets under my skin like nails on a chalkboard.

  1. 867-5309 Hadn't heard that one in awhile. Love it! This is my high school music, too, Travis.

Hope things chill soon for you and Pam at work. Mine has also been Egyptian-slave-at-the-pyramids as well, but just yesterday things magically turned around. I hope it happens with you, too.

  1. cool set. I signed up for the free grooveshark.

Hope your Big Cool Thing this weekend is totally awesome and fun!!!!!!

College drinkin' music from years gone by! LOL! The 38 Special song reminds me of my summer semester (sophomore year)at Longbranch saloon on dime beer nights followed by $1 Genessee pounders. I had the hots for a frat guy who was a friend of a friend. We ended up kissing on my sofa later that night. Gosh, I was so darn naive back then. Really naive.

Thanks for the chuckle and smile.

    Enjoy the weekend! :-)

  1. Okay the best is Stray Cats , but you are so young young young .. Cringe. Glad I went for someoldies oldies.

  1. All of those songs bring me back to my high school years. Not sure if that is a good thing. ;)

Dang! I don't recall any of those tunes. Oh well, the music world is huge so there's always something to surpriuse me. Thanks for the tunes. We had a death in our family, so there hasn't been much posting going on at my blog. I need to catch up on a few of yours, too. Glad to hear the busy schedule will start to turn around. Hoep you get to put your feet up and breathe soon! GGG

How did I miss this shout-out? I'm glad you like the service. And I love all these songs. Prime time high school years for me, so they hold a special place in my heart.
