Cue that theme music!

It's encores and results!

Here's what we liked from Monday's performances.

I didn't care for the Viennese Waltz from Aly and Mark on first viewing.  Watching it back, it still didn't do anything for me.  But Pam's opinion changed and she suggested it deserved an encore.  So here it is.

Dangit, we did liked the Rumba from Jacoby and Karina.  I can't maintain a healthy grumpy against the Baltimore Raven receiver if he's going to be this good of a dancer.

We thought the Viennese Waltz from Zendaya and Val was sweetly romantic and beautifully danced, right up to the last drop spin when she lost her balance.

Kellie and Derek take dance of the night honors for their fast and crisp Jive.  Scroll to about 1:42 for the dance.

And here's what Louis van Amstel had to say.

Let's have a reminder of our leader board:

25 Kellie and Derek
24 Zendaya and Val
24 Jacoby and Karina
23 Aly and Mark
23 Victor and Lindsay
21 Lisa and Gleb
21 Ingo and Kym
21 Sean and Peta
18 Andy and Sharna
16 DL and Cheryl
15 Wynonna and Tony

Tweeters voted Zendaya and Jacoby as Prom Queen and King, so they each get 2 extra points.  Our adjusted leader board looks like this.

26 Zendaya and Val
26 Jacoby and Karina
25 Kellie and Derek
23 Aly and Mark
23 Victor and Lindsay
21 Lisa and Gleb
21 Ingo and Kym
21 Sean and Peta
18 Andy and Sharna
16 DL and Cheryl
15 Wynonna and Tony

First results...Zendaya and Val are safe.  Jacoby and Karina are safe.

Huey Lewis and the News are in the ballroom, accompanied by our Dance Troupe.  Excellent!

The judges select the Cha Cha Cha from Sean and Peta as the encore.

More results...Kellie and Derek are safe.  DL and Cheryl are safe.

We have a special routine from our male pros and Dance Troupe guys.  That dance battle was choreographed by Jason Gilkinson.  Pam gave it 5 YEOWSAs out of 5.  We get to see the ladies next week.

More results...Sean and Peta are safe.  Victor and Lindsay are safe.

Macy's Stars of Dance was taped earlier.  That was really cool.  Clever editing had the dancers performing in reverse, then normally, then reversed again.

Demi Lovato visits the ballroom to debut her new single, accompanied by our Troupe.  Meh.

Final results...Aly and Mark are safe.  Ingo and Kym are safe.  Lisa and Gleb are safe.  Andy and Sharna are safe.

That means Wynonna and Tony are eliminated.

That's a shame.  She wasn't able to overcome her nerves and inhibitions about dancing.  She was so far behind in scores this week that her fans couldn't make up the difference.

Next week is the celebration of a year in the life of our celebrities, which is always an emotional week of revelation through dance.

Cheers gang!

  1. I assumed that it would come down to Wynonna and DL for the exit interview. You could almost hear Wynonna counting steps and there was never any fluid movement from her. DL's days are numbered.

After DL's surprise last week, I figured that Wynonna's fans would pull her through another week. But really, I think that this is for the best. It's only going to get harder.

I think your assessment about inhibitions is spot on. Some people find it tougher than others to do some of the dance moves required for that show. I would be one of those folks, too. GGG

  1. I must plead no comment. Now if they had zombie dancers I'd probably watch it! :)
