I remember

You will find my SYTYCD results finale recap below this post.  I balance the solemnity of the day with frivolity, because life does go on.

I commemorate this day, 12 years after the terror attacks of Tuesday, 11 September 2001, with no agenda other than to remember with respect...

...the 87 passengers and crew of American Airlines flight 11, the 60 passengers and crew of United Airlines flight 175, and the 2,016 people in both towers...

...the 64 passengers and crew of American Airlines flight 77 and the 125 people in the Pentagon...

...the 40 passengers and crew of United Airlines flight 93...

...the 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 NY Port Authority officers who ran toward danger and made the ultimate sacrifice to save lives...

...the many souls who had their lives disrupted.

I will always remember.

11 September 2001

  1. We were talking about this yesterday. I guess a lot of us were.

  1. Another year..and this year it didn't hit until late...I kept telling myself "It is a few weeks away" and that was THIS weekend!

My post is expected to go up just about now (9:59am EDT - when the South Tower fell)

    Bless them all

  1. 9-11-01 is our Pearl Harbor. It is an event that will remain in the minds of this generation until the day that we go to our grave. I am sure that all of us can remember exactly where we were when we heard the news. It is truly a day of infamy. May the God of all creation comfort those who suffered loss on that day.

  1. Jean(ie) says:

I so remember this day clear as a bell. The range of emotions for those killed, those who served, and how it affected us as people and a nation.

  1. what a beautiful tribute to those who were lost. it's a sad time in history and a sadder time still for those who were affected directly by 9- 11. i don't think anyone will ever forget.
