30 Days of Peace Quotes

Playoff baseball is all about pitching.  My Dodgers were set up at the beginning of the National League Championship Series with Ace 1A and 1 - Zach Geinke followed by Clayton Kershaw.  Both guys pitched to expectations.

St Louis went the full 5 games against Pittsburgh, so the Cardinals were in the middle of their rotation.  But Joe Kelly and Michael Wacha came up big in the first 2 games agains LA, backed by a stellar performance from the bullpen.

If you score Cardinal pitching a 10 so far, you score Dodger pitching 9.9.  It really was that close on the mound.  But Cardinal hitters got just enough key hits to win game 1 3-2 in 13 innings, and game 2 1-0.

Yeah, it's that close.  And now SL is back at the top of its rotation for the critical game 3 with ace Adam Wainwright.  LA goes with Hyun-Jin Ryu, who has been strong all season but was shaky in the NLDS against Atlanta.  Ryu needs to stand up like Kelly and Wacha did against the LA aces, otherwise Dodger fans are in for disaster.

It would be nice to get some key hits from Hanley Ramirez if he's healthy, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasiel Puig, and Andre Ethier too.

One game at a time.  It's still certainly possible to get back into this series.  Now it's a best of 5.  But there is very little room for error.

Remember I'm counting down the days to Blog Blast on 4 November with 30 days of Peace Quotes and Reasons to Blog for Peace.

It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength.  Maya Angelou

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

There are risks and costs to action.  But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.  John F Kennedy

Reason 22:  Because a young man named Matthew Shepard died on 12 October 1998 because he was gay and the two men who beat him and left him tied to a fence to die in the Wyoming countryside didn't like that.  I blog for Peace in memory of people like Matthew.

Reason 21:  Because time is going to pass whether I blog for Peace or don't.  So I'm blogging for Peace.

Reason 20:  In the Lord of the Rings films, Lady Galadriel, played ethereally by Cate Blanchett, says "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."  I am just arrogant enough to believe that I can change the future by my actions, and so my actions include blogging for Peace.

We speak on one subject with one voice on one day.  Won't you join us?  You have a voice; how will you use it?  Check in at Mimi Writes or at the Peace Globe Gallery for all the details you need to make your Peace Globe and join your voice to the movement.

    Love the quotes Trav.

  1. I hope it's true about the smallest person, and that their goals are good ones for us all.

I don't see it as arrogance that makes you think you can change the world by your actions. (Maybe it is.) I think it is confidence. I taught Goodnight very early that diversity is a wonderful thing. Her acceptance of people that some of her peers would not accept found her unaccepted too, but, she just kept on accepting. GGG
