Welcome to Peace Week, Day 1
Posted: Monday, October 28, 2013 by Travis Cody inWe Blog for Peace one week from today on 4 November. I'm kicking off Peace Week as usual, with my bloggiversary. Seven years ago today I began Trav's Thoughts because I felt that I needed a place to lay down my poetry, my opinions, and my general philosophy.
The Blog Blast movement is also seven years old this year. It started off with one woman's expression of awareness and enlightenment. She shared that with a small corner of the blogging world. The contributions of bloggers from around the world expanded until online awareness became bricks and mortar action.
I know I approach my existence in the world differently, in part because of my participation in this movement. Blog Blast Day and Trav's Thoughts will go together as long as Mimi's movement and my blog exist on the internet.

Each time a man stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.

Reason 8: Because Blog Blast isn't a fad or a bandwagon. It is a
movement. It is a chance for bloggers to spread the word...because
peace comes from us as individuals, spreading out in ripples across our
own little corners of the world.
Reason 7: Because Peace is a constant and worthy struggle.
Reason 6: Because I believe in the magic I feel in this movement.

We speak on one subject with one voice on one day. Won't you join us? You have a voice; how will you use it? Check in at Mimi Writes or at the Peace Globe Gallery for all the details you need to make your Peace Globe and join your voice to the movement.
Join us. You know you want to.
I believe that words have power, so this matters.
Happy Blogversary Trav!
