    Oh my gosh, you're an alphabetizer!

  1. You know, I'm not an alphabetizer, but I should be with all of the books we have.

    You put me to shame, friend.

    BTW - I'm more than halfway through "Half-Blood Prince" - yippee!

  1. What a great library you've got!

  1. Jay: Yes I am! Pathetic eh?

    Songbird: I haven't started my reading yet! Stoopid me - I picked up Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden first and I'm hooked.

    Joely: I do try!

  1. Sandee says:

    Not participating in TT. :)

    What a nice rundown on your reads. I'm impressed. Also, as Jay said, you're an alphabetizer... I'm not really surprised here. Have a great day.

  1. Schmoop says:

    I cant believe that you arent reading any of Rush Limbaugh's books. Communist!!

  1. Angell says:

    Nice first grouping of authors - and you know I love #1 already....

    OOOH I love books. :D

  1. Mags says:

    Ooo, pretty room!

  1. Comedy: Aw shucks. That's just the A's and a few B's.

    Matt: Pfffffffffffffftttttt!

    Angell: Yes I do know that! I love books too.

    Mags: Thanks! Guess I'll have to work on the masculine aspect a little so I can get a "handsome" room!

  1. looks so neat! wish you would spend some time in my closet....

    smiles, bee

  1. Lori says:

    Sounds yummy....I'll have to check them out.

  1. Julie says:

    Ummm yeah..I wish he would spend time in My closet too!

    Bwahahahahhahaha!!!!

    So we're using the bungee cords, candles and wine picture again. But with books on the shelves! Yay! Now about those Swiffer dusters....wooo!!!

  1. Meribah says:

    I don't alphabetize myself. I just loosely group my books by subject and book size! Nice room. :)

  1. Very cool choice of books. I try to alphabetize my books too, but it's gotten a little out of control. Poul Anderson is a writer I hadn't thought of in years, I have a few of his books. Asimov of course is great, Watership Downs is one of the greatest novels ever, you can't go wrong with the Wizard of Oz. Ben Bova is another very good writer that I haven't read in awhile.

    You started the Harry Dresden book? How do you like it? I think they are great!

    I really like you idea for a 13 this time, and I've been having problems coming up with ideas for it on my own lately, so if you don't mind I might just steal the idea for a 13 for me too.

    im totally completly and utterly jelous of your book shelf... i wish i so wish I could organize all my books like that!!! looks like we have alot of similar taste... have you read david weber? awesome writter.

  1. You must be a Scorpio...or Virgo. My brother, the professor, has his alph'd, too - for quick reference. I try to sort by general topic and I'm real happy to find my Western Gardening book if it's not in the middle of my cook books. I feel accomplished then. I still envy you your view!
    ~~~Blessings~~~
  1. BeckEye says:
    I have a book recommendation for you that I bet you'll like. "Replay" by Ken Grimwood. Kind of a time travel story. Very, very good.
  1. My list of books is vastly different from yours, but oh how I envy you that beautiful library.
    Have a great day!
  1. Unknown says:
    WOW! Such a comfy and inviting place to read and relax.
    Well, I´ve sorted our books by color... what does it tell you about me? Uhm, I guess I don´t wanna know... I´m a bit frightend because it doesn´t bother me (yet) that I have to dig through a few tons of books to find what I´m searching for *LOL*
  1. Bee: Now the closet...that's an entirely different story!
    Lori: They work for me.
    Julie: Swifter dusters are most excellent since dusting is my 2nd least favorite cleaning activity.
    Meri: Of course you don't alphabetize yourself! It would be silly to alphabetize one puppy!
    John: I'm liking the Dresden so far. I think I'll continue this idea for a while.
  1. JAM says:
    Travis, don't alphebetizing isn't pathetic. Barnes and Noble does it, and I LOVE Barnes and Noble. You're in good company. Sorry I missed this "on the day."
    Sainted Mother got me started on the "Cat Who..." books. I've often wondered who has been writing them since her death, and which one was the last one she actually wrote. When I can't find a book that looks interesting in the library, I go to the cat who... or Dick Francis mysteries.
    Oh yeah, the library alphabetizes too. My daughter does her books and CDs as well. My books and CDs are all over the house, but it's rare that I can't find exactly what I'm looking for immediately.
  1. Wolfbaby: I haven't read David Weber but I'll certainly make a note. You should organize! It makes it so much quicker to find what you want - and prevents duplicate purchases!
    Gracie: I'm actually an Aries. The only trouble I run into sometimes is forgetting who wrote the book I'm searching for. But that doesn't happen very often.
    Beck: I'll make a note. Thanks!
    Alice: I love just looking at all of them sometimes. I'm such a geek!
    Sanni: My folks do that in their front room. The have two large custom bookcases that my stepdad built. They use the color for decorating accents in their room. I could never do that, but it's certainly a choice.
    Jam: I used to sort by subject and then alphabetize, but that's a bother to me. When I want something light, I turn to The Cat Who books.
    Starrlight: Over what are you drooling? The books? The room? The system?
  1. Anndi says:
    Why aren't I surprised you would alphabetize your books?
    SMOOCH
  1. TopChamp says:
    It looks great - just want to curl up on the chair with something from your library!
    1 - great
    2 - as in the rabbit film? can't watch it coz it's too scary so I wouldn't dream of trying the book - my imagination would prob be worse even.
    What's The Cat who books about? (displaying some ignorance here... sorry)
  1. We have way so much in common we could probably trade bookcases and end up with the same books.
  1. Ann: Because you understand how my mind works?
    TC: The rabbit film...LOL! I didn't see the film, but the book is actually quite delightful and not scary. The Cat Who books are light mystery and always a quick, fun read.
    Jamie: Now there's a thought.
