It sucks when I unexpectedly run out of peanut butter. I can go weeks without craving a peanut butter sammich. And so I didn't notice that there was barely enough in the jar to cover one slice of bread. I didn't want PB&J - it would have sucked worse if I did because I don't have any jelly either. And I didn't want PB&Butter either. I just wanted peanut butter on both slices of bread. Dangit.

I'm still getting used to the spray hose feature on my kitchen faucet. I was already bummed about not having enough PB to make a proper sammich. But now I have to change my shirt too. Why? Because I accidentally sprayed water all over myself when I used the dang spray hose feature on my kitchen faucet! Cripes!

When you share some lunch with kitty, it doesn't take him long to forget that he gets to lick the dish after you've finished eating. But you have to constantly remind him that he does NOT get to stick his face into your food before you've gotten to take a bite.

Heehee! Valerie Bertinelli has a new Jenny Craig commercial and she just winked at me! No...she did NOT wink at everyone! She winked at ME!

Oh! I saw this pre-assembled kitchen backsplash last night on HGTV. This is from Kitchen Accessories Unlimited:

Broan's new, pre-assembled backsplashes in natural stone or ceramic tile literally go from the box to beautiful in just ten minutes. But it's not just the appearance that you'll find satisfying. You also get the scratch and stain-resistance of a real tile backsplash, and the one-of-a-kind surface that only natural tile provides. What's more, our exclusive wall-hugging system holds the pre-assembled backsplash so securely you'd think it was installed permanently.

Awwwww. Don't laugh now. I'm a homeowner and these things are important, especially for a guy like me who is slightly do-it-yourself challenged. I did successfully hang curtains this weekend.

So my favorite design show on HGTV has always been Divine Design with Candice Olson. She designs classy and elegant spaces. Recently I've been enjoying Color Splash with David Bromstad. And he just did my ideal room. Check it out.

Way cool! David has a way of getting into the homeowner's mind and really hitting on the right design. I'd pay top dollar to have him design my home.

*note to self* Send Trav a couple of jars of peanut butter for emergencies...

Love Candice Olson...that's my favorite show on HGTV. And that backsplash is cool...we're thinking of doing a glass tile backsplash, but I think it might take forever and the kit sounds wonderful (and MUCH easier!)

    Have a great day, Trav!!

    SMOOCH!!

  1. My son just told me yesterday that we were out of peanut butter - ack! I HATE when that happens.

That room is very befitting a Pacific NW home. You should get that, Trav.

Dang, can I have a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast? There's no law against that, right?

  1. Katherine: My brand is Skippy.

Pia: I'm not a fan of glass tiles although it seems to be the thing for kitchens and bathrooms. I really prefer stone.

Songbird: It is an awesome room isn't it? I think this make-over house was outside SF.

    Gail: Of course you can!!

    Bee: Yeah she did!

Last April Fools Day I had my son put clear tape around the spray trigger on his Mom's kitchen sink. She turned on the faucet and swooosh. Classic. Cheers!!

LOL Trav. That spray feature can be a bitch, can't it?

Don't watch Candice Olson, will wait until I have a space to decorate/rennovate/whatever.

    HUGS babe.

  1. Mmm...now I want a PB&J sammie!

Ya need to come see me, I sell kitchen and bath fixtures. ;)

Oooh yeah....very sharp lookin' room! I can see that in a log cabin in the mountains.

Mr. Tucker, you rule! And Travis, he was just helping with the pre-wash!

My husband is another PB fan. He eats it by the spoonful though and then puts on weight. He can eat a whole jar in one sitting. I don't like anything that sticks to the roof of my mouth. :)

  1. Ohh I love David's show! And I am a total HGTV fanatic, and I love that faucet.

Yep, those are definitely the pics of a man's home all right! Well, the home of a straight man anyway. LOL
Sorry you ran out of peanut butter, but there ARE worse things to run out of...like toilet paper!
Heeheehee! My puppy pal sometimes forgets that I'm the owner and she's the pet...and owners eat first!

  1. Wolfbaby: I love that room!

    Matt: LOL! A great prank!

Angell: Grrrr. I have to watch where I put my thumb I guess.

Sanni: Well, anyone can post a pic of a jar of PB!

CWM: I'm getting my place squared away...maybe I'll be ready to post some new pics soon.

Julie: Well he can just wait until I finish!!

Comedy: I don't usually eat it straight out of the jar, but I will spread it on crackers.

    Starrlight: David rocks!

  1. Diesel: It can be, but I think I prefer fake dead animal chic.

Meri: Awwww now - that room was designed for a married couple!

  1. Our favorite peanut butter is JIF... can't be any other kind. There must always be PB in our house or we have no food.. ;-)

Loved the backsplash. I want a tile backspash but haven't been able to talk Tony into it yet and we just re-done our kitchen. Oh well maybe next time.

  1. Lisa Ryan says:

mmmm two of my favorite things mentioned here! peanut butter and HGTV. :-)

  1. JAM says:

Dude, I've been a happy married man for almost 23 years, but I would still love it if Valerie B. winked at me. What men of a certain vintage didn't watch One Day at a Time just to see her?

Sorry about the peanut butter. That's one of those basic things in life that has to be done right or not at all.
