GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dammit! I was all excited that my Raiders got the win today. And then I go and watch Football Night in America and find out that Lane Kiffin called a time out just a split second before the Browns kicked the winning field goal.

His time out was allowed, and then Oakland came back and blocked the field goal.

Now I must not be a hypocrite and I must be outraged, as I was last week when Denver did it to Oakland.

The competition committee must change the rule. You should not be allowed to call that time out.

So yes...I am outraged. Even though my team benefits this week, it is still bush league bullshit gamesmanship to call that time out.

Damn.

  1. I'm with Dana and Bee. I could pretend I understood everything you just said but I really didn't so I'll just that I hope you get a nice bottle of Chardonnay, light some candles for Pam and chill out.

    Don't you feel better already??

  1. Now ladies...this was more than a sports post. This was about integrity and not being a hypocrite.

I was upset that something bad happened to my team last week, so I can't be happy that my team benefited from the same thing happening to its opponent today.

See? It's not about sports, it's integrity in the context of sports.

And this is why we LOVE you. Yeah it sucks--the Browns shoulda won. But They made lots of bonehead plays sugar. Maybe Karma is less obvious sometimes

    Smooch

  1. Maybe it's a good thing that we couldn't watch this game. Cleveland native hubby woulda been PISSED OFF at this.

    Crap.

  1. Oh, and I got the integrity thing.

Even if I don't like a team, I can appreciate a beautiful pass, and fantastic run, or a bogus call.

  1. you Travis...are a really "good sport"

  1. We are originally from Ohio. My husband follows all the Ohio teams, while I only care about my Indians (who just won the Central Division Championship, by the way - wooohooo, sorry, just had to stick that in there). Anyway, my husband was furious. He called me into the room and proceeded to go through the motions of explaining, play by play what had happened. He ended it with "That SUCKS!"

sorry, Trav. life is unjust sometimes.
ok, so I know I'm talking college football but did you see the 'cuse beat Louisville? THAT was unexpected and gave us fans some hope (no matter how short lived)

  1. Turn: It never really comes down to one play, but that one play is still wrong.

Songbird: And he should have been pissed off! Just like I was last week!

Katherine: I try to be, although there are some things that just demand outrage.

Misty: And he is right...just like it sucked when Denver did it to the Raiders last week! I wish Coach Kiffin hadn't done it.

Lisa: I did see the big win for Syracuse. It gives me a little hope that ND might win once this season.
