And one two three, one two three, one two three
Posted: Tuesday, October 16, 2007 by Travis Cody inBlogger really caused problems tonight. It was slow. I had trouble uploading photos. I had trouble saving. It took over an hour to finish this post, and I wrote it during the show!
Cue that theme music! Live from Hollywood!!
Heehee!
Welcome back Samantha Harris. She looks great. Nice tatas.
Oh! I beg your pardon!
It's Paso Doble and Viennese Waltz tonight. I didn't realize, but this is the first time the Viennese Waltz has been danced on the show.
Mark and Kym dance Viennese Waltz. This was much smoother than he's been. His posture was very good and he looked much less awkward. That was really good. We're very impressed by that. It was much more polished and definitely his best so far. Bruno and Carrie Ann picked on his footwork, which was a little clunky in a couple spots. But we liked it. Judges say 7,8,7 for a total of 22.
Sabrina and Mark dance Paso Doble. Well, in my opinion Paso should have Latin flavored music. I'm going to rely on the judges remarks for that because I didn't like the choreography or the music. We didn't understand it as a Paso. Bruno says it had power and it was incredible. Carrie Ann says she thought the dance was perfection. Len says he didn't find anything wrong with it. OK...there you go. Judges say 10's across for the season's first perfect 30. We like Sabrina, but we just couldn't understand the dance because of the music.
Ms Jane and Tony dance Viennese Waltz. She is class and elegance and beauty and joy. She makes us smile. That was simply beautiful. Carrie Ann is picking on them for a lift, but I didn't see it. The judges need to stop arguing about it because it was a gorgeous dance and deserves better than the bickering. Judges say 8,9,9 for a total of 26.
Floyd and Karina dance Paso Doble. The moves were unconnected and his shoulders were hunched forward again. There were some good moments...his jump across the stage was terrific. They danced with energy and passion. He attacked it, but we thought the dance was kind of messy. Carrie Ann is bitching again about a lift. Judges say 7,8,8 for a total of 23.
Mel and Maks dance Viennese Waltz. That was a very nice safe dance. The choreography had the spins and turns, both in hold and out of hold, and it was pillow smooth. Very lovely and romantic. We think Carrie Ann should have some CAKE...she seems just a little grumpy tonight and it's starting to get on our nerves. Judges say 8,9,9 for a total of 26.
Cameron and Edyta dance Paso Doble. Oy. Paso to the Superman theme. We hated it. And now we are completely irritated with Carrie Ann. She bitched and bitched about the other lifts, and then she didn't scold this pair the same way. Judges say 9's across for a total of 27. Carrie Ann is ruining our enjoyment of the show tonight.
Marie and Jonathan dance Viennese Waltz. Another beautiful dance. She showed the class and the elegance the dance required. The choreography might have been a little safe, but we enjoyed it. She's just so charming, it's hard not to like her. Judges say 9,9,8 for a total of 26.
Jennie and Derek dance Paso Doble. Jennie is in it to win it y'all! The dance had attitude and speed and power. It was very aggressive and they attacked it. Classic Paso. She is improving every week. Judges say 8,10,9 for a total of 27.
Helio and Julianne dance Viennese Waltz. That dance should make every man in America want to take his Lady in his arms and whirl her around the dance floor. That was elegant and romantic and dramatic. Excellent. Judges say 9's across for a total of 27.
So about these "lifts". Carrie Ann maintains that a lift is defined as any movement where the dancer leaves contact with the floor in an act that the dancer could not perform without assistance. Technically speaking, she may have been correct about moves in nearly every dance tonight. But the rule is in place to protect the celebrities from trying things they aren't ready for, and to keep them from getting injured. And to keep the pros from taking a ringer like Sabrina and choreographing a routine against which none of the other celebrities could possibly compete.
Here are several words about Miss Carrie Ann. She annoyed us last season when she went on and on about Apolo and Julianne's pefect Paso after Apolo nearly fell on his ass. He had to put his hand down. Len and Bruno also threw 10's on that dance, but Carrie Ann led the charge of the perfect 10's.
The lift debate irritated Pam and I tonight. None of the alledged "lifts" was out of context with the dance routines, nor were they egregious rules infractions. The rules are there for the safety of the celebrities. This is an entertainment show. Carrie Ann and her harping on the "lifts" ruined our enjoyment of some truly wonderful dances tonight. And then came the double standard - some needed to be scolded while others got a pass because their dancing improved so much over previous weeks.
HARUMPH!!!!
So, don't forget to vote for your favorite dance from tonight's show. We'll tally up the votes and include the videos in our encores and results post.
Now we must go and get rid of the grouchy.
Thanks for stopping by my place and OMG!!! You hit every nail on the head about Dancing with the Stars last night! I was so irritated with what's her name because her double standards were not about how much improvement they were about the men! Jane Seymour was perfection! and she ruined it. UGH. Okay, I'm off my soap box now - Have a great day! L
