Mo's Manic Monday - Relish

Before we get to Manic Monday, I have one thing to say about New England. When you are ahead 42-10 at the end of the third quarter, and you are stopped on 3rd down just outside the Buffalo 10 yard line, kick the field goal. There is no need to be a bully and go for it on 4th down just so you can pad your fucking stats. This is why I do not like New England.

The banner was designed by Janna from Jannagraphics.

Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. Today's theme is Relish.

Oy. I had a tough time with this one. I've been wanting to write something, but I just haven't had the inspiration. It isn't the themes Mo is choosing. Not at all. It's just that I can't seem to get my brain working right.

So what am I going to post for this word. How about things that I relish?

The most obvious is CAKE!

Another thing I relish is the last 100 pages of a really good book.

How about a classic sports moment, like Kirk Gibson hitting an improbable home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series?

When I lived in southern California, during the summer I would relish an ice cold bottle of water. Or perhaps a crisp, cold beer.

What else? Well, I relish the thing I never actually expected to find. It snuck up on me when I wasn't looking for it. I relish the love of a woman. It's soul deep and all encompassing. It makes me feel special. It's romantic and sexy and soft and safe. It makes me a better man and a better person.

Great post, Trav. I relish a tall glass of lemonade on a hot, summer day. :)

You can come to my place today and have some cake too. ;)

    Happy MM.

I have to agree with you. Cake rocks. But pie is better. :P Most memorable sports moment for me is probably when Patrick Roy met Chris Osgood and they battled at center ice. And there's nothing I relish more than the love of a woman. :)

At least you found something nice to write for this word ! I didn't understand the word "relish" and my dictionary didn't help me either. Relish for me was the labelled glass on Moo's blog, lol !

  1. And every woman who reads the last sentence will smile and go ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

  1. I relish your Manic Monday Post

Seems to me you found some lovely inspiration ;-)

  1. Seems clear that New England has a chip on their shoulder and are willing to torture anyone who they get withing reach of their claws.

  1. i love this post, well, except for the sports parts that kink of popped up out of nowhere. could you please put a warning next time? ha ha ha

    smiles, bee

All great things to "relish" -even the grumping at the onset about the Pats and their padding the score. It's good to relish growling from time to time too ya know. I especially liked the "Crisp, old beer" -making me thirsty for one as I type this today.

  1. I love pie!

(why is it the last hundred pages of a good book go soooo quickly?)

  1. CWM: CAKE and lemonade?? Yum-OH!

    Ian: All excellent relishes!

    Bridget: Yes I said CAKE!

Gattina: It was a tough word for me, but I worked it out.

    Jamie: Hehehehehehehehe

Matt: Yes they do. Join me?

    Sarge: Well said!

  1. Sandee: Awwww shucks.

    Akelamalu: That's me...Mr Sap.

Turn: I just had to look next to me.

Charles: I know it's tough to keep your edge when you're playing so well, but there's staying sharp and there's staying sharp professionally.

Bee: Sorry about the sports part.

Jeni: I like a good grump every so often.

Katherine: I like pie too, but CAKE is best! As for the book, I get stuck between wanting to get finished and see how it ends and never wanting to leave the characters.

  1. Tom "Terrific" ain't terrific in my eyes, but I know you and I agree on that point.

You have some great relish points, my friend. You and Pam are blessed in each other. You know that, right?

  1. You are such a romantic fool.

  1. ahhh
    the 1988 series!

  1. Songbird: We both know we got lucky.

    Mimi: I am.

    Dallas: Yup.

  1. Linda says:

This was an excellent way to do the word this week and I absolutely love the last paragraph - that is so sweet and romantic and thoughtful and better than what I've read in a lot of romance books!

I would relish the love of a good man were I ever able to find it again but apparently that isn't what is in store for me this lifetime. Maybe the next one? I relish the hope that it might be!

  1. These are all great things to relish... food, fun, and love :)

  1. Linda: Better than a romance novel? Cool!

TJ: That makes for a pretty full plate I'd say.

  1. TopChamp says:

MMM Cake! I was about to go and dry my hair so i could actually leave for work but I saw the cake...

I gave away my chocolate fudge cake yesterday though Travis. Voluntarily! They do an amazing deal in a pub near the theatre - £3.95 for 2 courses - soup & steak pie or steak pie & chocolate fudge cake...

  1. Julie says:

Awww so glad I backtracked and read this closer! You are a better man with Pam in your life. Great post but Mr. Tucker is pissed! and pouting! Yup pissed and pouting that HE wasn't mentioned! You better go love on him for a little bit.
