Mo's Manic Monday - Explosive

Posted: Monday, February 25, 2008 by Travis Cody in

Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. Today's theme is Explosive.

They are politically explosive. They are environmentally explosive. They are emotionally explosive. They affect every nation and every person on the planet.

They are nuclear explosions.

I make no political statements about them today. I merely point out the fact that even as the most dangerous man-made destructive events in the history of the world, nuclear explosions are stunningly beautiful.

  1. I have to agree: they are quite beautiful to watch! As for their use, well, that's another story. Happy MM!

    Mine is here:

  1. Gattina says:

Unfortunately your are right, they are beautiful !

  1. Corina says:

Sometimes the most horrifying things are the most beautiful ones.

  1. Jeni says:

All very good points there Trav!

  1. Now I want to see a space detonation, just to see if there's a freakin cool ring effect like in Star Wars.

  1. YIKES!

Happy Monday, come check out my explosive post!

  1. They are beautiful indeed. Frightening, but beautiful. Great choice for explosion. Have a great MM Travis. :)

  1. Anonymous says:

Very cool Mr. Trav! Sometimes things that are so powerful are beautiful. Just not always the results of that power.

  1. Julie says:

    It's me honey....I don't know why i'm anonymous...Julie

  1. Linda says:

It's sad that something so destructive can also be something so incredibly beautiful.

  1. Sanni says:

Destructive and beautiful - a quite explosive combination!

    Happy MM, Trav!

    Time for the Comment Game

  1. DrillerAA says:

    Great pics.
Looks kind of like some people's relationships that I have observed from afar. Great to look at but you don't want to be anywhere near ground zero.

  1. All that is beautiful is not good.

  1. Matt-Man says:

Reminds me of what happens after eating a dozen White Castle burgers. Cheers Travis!!

  1. Good point.
You just reminded me that I was supposed to do a "My Town Monday" post today. Eep!

  1. Bond says:

I have always thought so also - but never spoke of it as it just seemed weird to admire something so deadly....though I also love to watch a fire burn....

  1. Dixie says:

Very well done my dear hottie... very well done.

my comments aren't working properly. On the offchance that this sticks:

The photos are amazing - and unlike anything I've seen before. It's strange that they are so stunning.

    Ian: That would be cool.

Flying Monkeys: I'll be by soon!

Sandee: I wouldn't ever want to see one live and in person.

    Julie: I certainly agree.

    Linda: Agreed.

Sanni: Isn't it though? And I love the comment game!

  1. Travis says:

    Drilleraa: Good point.

  1. Shelia says:

The irony is incredible! I hope that we only will be able to see pictures of them in our lifetime.

  1. Mags says:

Finding beauty in scary things-that's one of the secrets to surviving, I think.

  1. jennifer says:

OK, I'm not going to actually sign up for this one BUT (and don't I always have a big BUT...) I have pics from Sunday of the Muscle guy blowing up the water bottle at our church. And EXPLODE it did. Then he threw the water bottle carcass at this other guy in the audience, the most well built guy in the building besides Muscle guy (ROWWRR) and mention the spit that had built up on the sides of it. EEWWWW! But the real explosion was the movement of the Lord in the church. WOW! That was BEAUTIFUL!!! Jennifer

  1. jennifer says:

Ahem...that would be "mentioned" and the pics are on my site. Sheesh, how do I even walk around? Jen

  1. Jeff B says:

Quite the contrast between the visual and actual.

  1. Travis says:

    Mike: It's a good story.

    CWM: The do at that.

    Shelia: I'm with you there.

    Mags: Good point.

    Jennifer: Whoa!

    Jeff: Most definitely.
