Encores and results

Live from Hollywood! Cue that theme music y'all and let's see what our votes have wrought!

We revisit the Rumba from Toni and Alec. We liked it last night, but didn't love it.

Same with the Paso Doble from Brooke and Derek. Liked it, just didn't love it.

Our favorite dance on Monday was the Paso Doble from Warren and Kym. We thought the promenade was so smoothe. There was a bit of a bobble at the end, but we don't think it diminished the performance at all.

Let's check in on Monday's leader board, shall we?

24 Warren and Kym
24 Brooke and Derek
23 Tony and Alec
21 Susan and Tony
21 Cody and Julianne
21 Misty and Maks
20 Lance and Lacey
19 Maurice and Cheryl
17 Kim and Mark
16 Rocco and Karina
15 Cloris and Corky

Oh hey! Here are the pros in their introductory dance from last week.

The judges select the Paso Doble from Warren and Kym as their unanimous encore choice. Excellent!

Let's get to the first results now. First to be safe are Toni & Alec and Rocco & Karina. GAH! Pam just sqeeeeed! I think that's the first time I've ever heard that sound come out of my Lady! Well...somebody has a seekrit favorite celebrity dancer that isn't so seekrit anymore. HA!

Jessica Simpson is in the ballroom, performing Come On Over accompanied by Pasha Kovalev and Anya Garnis. It's PASHA and ANYA from So You Think You Can Dance! Wooooooooooooo!!

Who else is dancing next week? It's Cody & Julianne, joined by Brooke & Derek.

And now we confirm that Len and Bruno are commuting back and forth to London to film two episodes of the British show Strictly Come Dancing, followed by the two episodes of DWTS in Hollywood. So what do you think gang? Do we cut Mr Cranky Pants some slack and chalk it up to jet lag?

NAH! Lighten up Len!

The Macy's Stars of Dance performance is up next, featuring Jenna Dewan from "Step Up" and Carmit Bachar from The Pussycat Dolls. The dance is choreographed by Brian Friedman, yet another cross over talent from SYTYCD. Outstanding!

Jessica Simpson returns to perform Angels, accompanied by Cheryl and Maks. The Rumba was spectacular.

More results now...Susan & Tony move on to next week, as will Warren & Kym and Maurice & Cheryl.

And now who will dance next week from the last four couples remaining? Lance & Lacey make it. So do Misty & Maks. And the final couple is Cloris & Corky.

And that means Kim and Mark are out.

Well, welcome to October. Today is the first day that I have access to Part 2 of my certificate program. I'm also ramping up to a busy time at work. So I might be a bit scarce from time to time over the next month.

Don't worry though. There will still be plenty of sports balanced by fluffy dancing posts and Manic Monday. Plus, my second bloggiversary is coming up at the end of the month. There might be CAKE. There could be flaming walnuts. There could even be some confetti. Who knows?

And there's the upcoming preparation for my nutty National Novel Writing Month task. In honor of NaNo, I have counted the words in this post. There are 600. That's not good, because it took me nearly 2 1/2 hours to get to that many words. Yikes!

So enjoy the rest of your week and I'll see you when I see you!

Excellent run down on the episode, thank you! I can only watch it online so for me, the results shows are the most tedious and sometimes I just can't get to them.

I have to echo complaints I have been hearing about the music. I personally thought the Paso Brooke and Derek pulled off was pretty excellent given the music they had to work with!

BUT, by far my favorite dance of Monday night was Warren and Kym. That guy just lights up the room, doesn't he? I LOVE him! :)

And I won't lie, I am not disappointed to see Kim go.

    Thanks again!

Kim's departure is no real surprise. She just had the personality of a box of rocks.
I would expect to see Cloris and Rocco gone in the next couple of weeks, then we will be down to the real contenders.

Good recap! And thanks for sharing the dance by the pros. For some reason, I had missed that one.

I was excited to see Pasha too. Between DWTS and SYTYCD, these shows have brought dance back to television, and that's a GOOD thing.

I was not sorry to see Kim go either, and glad Rocco got another chance, but who knows for how long :o)

Please remind me to duck when you throw those flaming walnuts... LOL!

  1. Schmoop says:

Good luck with the studies and the writing. Cheers Trav!!

this has become my favorite place to come on Tuesday and Wednesday morn - you go great with coffee!

I was thrilled to see Kim go. She revealed she didn't care when she kept saying she wanted to come back for the costumes - not the dancing, not her fellow dancers.

I loved Cloris shaking at the end and I thought the look Kim gave her was just one more revelation of what a little snip she is.

Warren is the man!! I am developing a huge crush on him ;)

Good luck with your studies. And thanks for such enjoyable recaps.

  1. Good luck on the 2nd part and Happy blogoversary!

  1. Ivanhoe says:

Good luck with your second part, Trav! My new set of classes starts on Monday :o)
Oooooh cake, football and dancing? You know I'll be here!

  1. I really tried to watch the dancing during Jessica's two songs, but my ears began to bleed so I zoomed through them...

The Macy's dancers were most excellent though...

    Glad Kim is gone...

  1. OH and good luck with the studies this month...

A fun packed month for you my friend.

  1. TopChamp says:

Those black leather-effect outfits must have been harder to dance in surely? I will check the other vids out later - pupil knocking on door!

  1. There is dancing and then there are the Dodgers ... Playoffs start tonight.

  1. Anndi says:

Kim just annoyed me further when she talked about coming back for the costumes. How disrespectful towards her partner! Glad she's out. She was boring as a dancer.

    Pam squeeeeeeed? LOL

    Good luck with the studies.

  1. Anndi says:

Oh... I'M watching SYTYCD Canada and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! They're selecting the top 20 and there are some outstanding dancers in there!

You would have loved watching Jean-Marc and France teach the kids to ballroom.

Best of luck with your studies and your busier work schedule. Yeah, it's October and I have to get caught up with Laundry. How pathetic - carrying laundry over into the next month.

I am rambling. Tylenol PM hitting hard.

    Good night!

  1. Kim K has NO sex appeal. Not even a bat squeaks worth. Ya just know she is a lousy lay. Yeah I said it, we are all thinking it :P

Len really really really is bugging me this year. It's like HELLO DUDE. You are old, Len. Things change. Modern is good. The wheel. Fire. All good.

  1. Linda says:

Cake? Did you say cake? I loves me some cake!

Yay for Cloris for surviving another week and Kim really needed to go ... I don't even know why she's considered a star, I really don't.

  1. Keri: Yeah, the results shows are tough to watch online. I do enjoy the pro performances though. Thanks for stopping by!

Drilleraa: I think you're right, although it appears that Pam will be sad to see Rocco go. LOL!

Marsha: I've really enjoyed watching both shows grow and find their footing. The cross over is the next logical evolution.

    Lois: Will do!

    Matt: Thank you Sir!

Dianne: I'm glad you enjoy it! Several people have noted that comment...we missed it. I guess that really does say a lot.

    Teach: Thank you!

    Ivanhoe: It's the triple threat!

V: The Macy's routine was outstanding.

TC: I can't imagine leather being that comfortable to dance in, especially under all those lights.

Jamie: Luckily mlb.com has Gamecast and I can keep track of the games.

Ann: Pam did indeed sqeee. Let me know if there are any other choreographers from the US show. I'll have to find some of the clips on youtube.

Jennifer: Ramble away. There have been times I've looked at the pile of laundry and considered it might just be better to chuck it all and buy new stuff.

Starr: A bat squeaks? I've never heard that before. I'm thinking Lacey's best bet is to get some advice from her mom and maybe to completely traditional this next week.

    Linda: I did say CAKE!
