Mo's Manic Monday - Leaf

Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by the new MM HQ at Manic Monday the Blog. The graphic is by Janna from Jannaverse, and today's theme is Leaf.

I got nothing today. I watched Notre Dame and the Dodgers, and studied in between on Saturday. And then on Sunday I watched the NFL all day.

At the last minute I thought of one of my favorite songs by Chad & Jeremy, A Summer Song.

A Summer Song
Chad & Jeremy, 1964

Trees swayin' in the summer breeze
Showin' off their silver leaves
As we walked by

Soft kisses on a summer's day
Laughing all our cares away
Just you and I

Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights
Gazing at the distant lights
In the starry sky

They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go
No, no, no, no

And when the rain
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you

They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you
Wish you didn't have to go
No, no, no, no

And when the rain
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you
And dream of you

Happy MM! I hadn't heard this tune before. I appreciate you providing the lyrics as well.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. It has been awhile since we've seen the Dodgers in the final four. I hope that they put a whoopin' to the Phillies...

I invite your blog readers to see my tribute to Ryan Leaf!

Did you have a good weekend. Lot of sports opportunities! WOW!

  1. Anthony: I've always thought so.

Villager: Go Dodgers! I'm still keeping my expectations low, but I'm getting very excited about the possibilities.

Lois: Yup! It was wall to wall sports at the Tavis & Pam abode.

  1. I'm not sure I've ever heard this song before-unfortunately I'll have to wait until Wednesday to see if that's true. I have no volume here at work and as you know, no computer at home!

Oh well. The lyrics are nice. :)

What a beautiful song and it's so true that autumn leaves must fall but I do so wish they'd hang on for a little longer than they do.

    Jamie: Indeed.

Mags: It's worth a listen as soon as you get some sound.

Very pretty lyrics. I'm not a sports fan but I'll think good thoughts toward the dodgers.
