Cue that theme music and let's check out this dancing thing again!

After the historic election of Barack Obama as President of the United States on Tuesday and Blog Blast for Peace on Thursday, we now return to the frivolous pursuit of Dancing!

Please scroll down for the Peace Post.

And now let's have the results from Monday!

It's live from Hollywood!

We loved the Rumba from Lance and Lacey. There were technique issues, like toes that weren't properly pointed and not enough hip action from Lance. But the choreography was wonderful, the dance was well made, and we enjoyed the performance.

Brooke and Derek came back strong, and scored the dance of the night with this Foxtrot.

The judges select Team Paso Doble as the encore. A good choice. That was the better of the two dances.

That team dancing really mucked around with the leader board. Some of the individual dances that did not measure up were cancelled out by the team score.

But, that's the rules. So here's our leader board after Monday.

59 Brooke and Derek
54 Maurice and Cheryl
50 Warren and Kym
45 Lance and Lacey
44 Susan and Tony
42 Cody and Edyta (for Julianne)

Lionel Ritchie is in the ballroom! He performs Good Morning, accompanied by Alec and Edyta with a very sexy and sultry Rumba. Very nice.

Results! Maurice and Cheryl are safe.

GAH! I really dislike the Dance Center feature with Kenny Mayne.

Macy's Stars of Dance is up with an amazing hip hop choreographed by Dave Scott. Dance is at it's most effective when it has character and story coupled with precision and joy and excitement. And it doesn't matter what style it comes it when it has all those things. We LOVED that performance!

More business...Brooke and Derek will be back next week, as will Warren and Kim.

So Team Paso Doble has made it through, and Team Cha Cha Cha is in danger.

Lionel Ritchie returns to perform Dancing on the Ceiling accompanied by Cheryl, Kym, Tony, and Maks. It's Samba of course! The party dance for a party song! Very cool!

Here we go...three couples still standing and one pair must go home.

Lance and Lacey are safe. Cody and Edyta (dancing for Julianne) are safe.

That means Susan and Tony are out.

Tune in next week to see the performances that get us to our Final Four couples.

Are you telling me that I mised Lionel? Darn!
Yeah, I think it was time to go for Susan...

  1. Julie says:

Yup...it was a good show...seems like ages ago that I blinked when I saw Maks with his shaved head.

  1. Katherine: Me too, but I guess the other fanbases stepped up this time.

    Ivanhoe: You missed Lionel. Sorry!

Julie: He did look a bit odd.

  1. Tina says:

Susan never truly looked comfortable on the dance floor. I got the feeling that she was counting in her head all of the time instead of just following her partners lead. She was the weakest dancer remaining in the competition and it was time to send her to the sidelines.

  1. Akelamalu says:

Oh I loved the barefoot rumba - so naturaly and sexy!

  1. Dianne says:

I can't believe how fast the season is going!!

  1. I really enjoy your commentary after the fact and the chance to review the dances armed with that information. They should really get you for one of the judges.

  1. TopChamp says:

oh - weird. Foxtrot very pretty but she had no clothes on from the waist up. I do realise she has an amazing body and dances beautifully, but the clothes and horrible music distracted me.

And I just hate rumba - bleurgh.

(glad I'm back commenting after a few days off??!)

  1. I liked the show too. Thanks for dropping by and wishing peace. Peace to you and your loved ones too :)

  1. Hi Travis - I was wondering if it would be alright if I posted your rose peace globe on my blog for this week's Thursday Thirteen?

  1. Tina: Yup. This is the 7th season of DWTS. I keep on eye on SCD as well, on youtube.

Bee: I'll just take some time so everyone can adjust.

    Drilleraa: Agreed.

    Akelamalu: Yes it was!

Dianne: I know! It's almost over.

Jamie: I fear I wouldn't be flamboyant enough as a judge!

TC: Rumba isn't my favorite either, but I did enjoy L&L. And of course I'm glad you're back!

    Cats: Glad you enjoyed.

  1. Julia: I would be honored.

  1. Kimmie says:
