A little more sky watching

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday yesterday, full of your special traditions and the people you love. We enjoyed some good food, a bit of NBA basketball, some music, and lots of conversation punctuated by laughter. We topped everything off with a good meal and a Star Wars movie marathon.

It was the original trilogy.

And our holiday was a white one as snow fell throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.

And as a bonus, my Lakers beat the Celtics.

I have a few more pictures that I took from my office window that I thought I would share today. These were taken in early December, before the big storms moved in.

Sounds like a good day. It has been a long time since I did the Star Wars marathon but I live with a man who would thoroughly enjoy that as a Christmas treat!

We had lots of nice food and played family board games. We watched some DVD's we received as gifts and watched the Christmas dancing special. It was nice.

Your office views are spectacular - how lovely!

  1. Hey, that looks like a Washington state ferry in those photos!

I can't believe you got more snow. As if you needed more of THAT.

The original Star Wars series? Cool! We usually do a marathon some time during the vacation break. Daughter wants it to be a Harry Potter one this year...

  1. great photos trev, happy day after

I watched the Star Wars marathon a few weeks before Christmas they were showing on TV.

Sounds like you had the perfect Christmas Trav. :)

Ah, that sounds like a wonderful Christmas to me!

The pictures are absolutely stunning - you have a much better view than I do from work but that's probably good as I'd be too distracted to answer 911 when it rang!

Happy Day After Christmas - hope you and Pam have a good one!

  1. TC: We had a great meal and we have leftovers! Plus 2 slices of Mrs Smith's cherry pie and a pumpkin pie that we'll bake for new year's.

Songbird: I think that is a ferry. We also see large barges and cargo ships.

    Sarge: Thanks!

Akelamalu: We enjoyed our movie marathon and our holiday.

Linda: It's amazing how the sky is always different. I would classify the view as a definite plus for this job.

Oh! And I love Star Wars. We did a Harry Potter marathon - DVDs were a Christmas gift to Diva Daughter! Our usual Marathon movies are Lord of the Rings.

    That view is spectacular.

I'm so glad you had a great day! We did a movie marathon too although it was a bit 'different'--Sin City, Gone Baby Gone and Bad Santa;-)

What stunning photos. Lucky you to have such a beautiful view.

We had a quiet day after having Christmas Breakfast over at my son's house.

I watched the "Little People, Big World" Marathon. I just love that show.

Last week my son brought over the DVD "Iron Man"...I thought that was a pretty cool movie. I loved Robert Downey Jr. in it. :-)

I had a great day after Christmas this year!

Oh...by the way...I almost forgot the most important thing!!!!

I called my brother in Cleveland and asked him about the ornaments that were on our tree as kids. I explained yours, and he said "yep" mom had a bunch of green and red ones on our tree...I was so happy I wasn't dreaming it! Thank You Travis for bringing my Mom back to me on Christmas Day this year with your Ornament Post.
    Hugs,
    Kimmie

  1. You see such beauty from your office window? wow! that is some scenery...you must be constantly inspired.

star wars...i remember seeing the very first one in the time warner theater of downtown pittsburgh. this was a time when they still had ushers and going to the movies was a big event!

sounds like you had a wonderful holiday.

  1. Nice view. "I'm dreaming of a Star Wars christmas?

    sounds heavenly!

love the original Star Wars !!

  1. Cherie says:

Glad that y'all had a good time. A bug managed to catch me, so I celebrated with a Lord of the Rings marathon on the couch, myself. lol Star Wars sounds good for New Year's. :)

What a beautiful view! I wouldn't get any thing done with a view like that! Hope your Christmas rocked!!

    Great pics! Happy New Year!

  1. Jennifer: There's always something interesting out that window.

Storyteller: We don't take the time for movie marathons often. It was a nice change.

Laughingwolf: Well that's no fun at all.

Turn: That is different, but if you enjoyed it then that's all that matters. I've only seen Sin City of those three.

Kimmie: We found a marathon of NCIS on USA Network yesterday. I started watching that show when it first came on, but then I lost track of it. We watched several episodes and really liked it, so I think we'll see if the series is on DVD. And I'm so glad you found out about your mom's ornaments. You should get a few of them for yourself.

Merelyme: There hasn't been too much inspiration from that view yet, but you do point out a nice side benefit. Perhaps when I'm more settled into my routine and not so busy I'll catch a little inspiration.

    Charles: Yup yup yup!

Dianne: The original films are the best. I wish Lucas had done a better job on the prequels.

Cherie: The LOTR marathon was another choice. We almost can't fit it in during one day though, because we always watch the extended versions.

    Floreta: Thanks!

  1. Those photographs are the kind that end up in contests and on a museum wall ... utterly beautiful.

The rain has dissolved most of our snow.

With a view like that, I'd be tempted to put binoculars on my desk! Let's see... yesterday we watched Band of Brothers. That was on all day! I slept through hours of it, did chores, but managed to catch about 4 or 5 hours of it.

  1. Travis, how do you get any work done with views like that? Happy New Year! :)

  1. Kimmie says:

    Hi Trav!

I just wanted to let you know I have a litte something for you over at my blog.
