Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at the Manic Monday blog. Today's theme is Candle.

This is our favorite candle holder. We just got a new candle for it.

And this is our favorite candle.

And this is a candle in a window, photographed by someone much more talented than I am at using a camera. Thank you Google Images!

  1. Akelamalu says:

    I love candles - mainly because I look better by candlelight! ;)

  1. we have some great photos of candles lit at night on our back deck. Lana has such good taste in decorations.

    I love candles, too!

  1. Anndi says:

    So, why is that candle your favourite?

    Chicklet and I like to dine by candlelight, she gets to light them under momma's eagle eye.

  1. Lovely candle image.

  1. Linda says:

    I like how your candle holder has a capping do-daddy thing (oh wait, it's a snuffer, right?!) on it.

    I love candles; they can change the entire atmosphere of a room with not just their light but their scents also.

  1. Nancy is a candle freak and has them all over...I am beginning to appreciate them more..

  1. They always look so comforting. A gentle light in the dark.

  1. Jennifer: Nice reference!

    Akelamalu: Stop it...you look good in any light!

    Charles: I've always enjoyed candle light.

    Lois: Candles are excellent.

    Ann: It's our favorite because it lasts a long time.

    Mimi: Indeed.

    Linda: I think snuffer is right. I like that one because it's a bit old fashioned.

    V: They are most outstanding mood enhancers.

    Anthony: Well put.

    I echo Anndi's question ... Why's the favorite candle the favorite.

    Yes, I love candles too. If I was from a more dysfunctional family, I might have become a pyromaniac. lol ;)

  1. Cherie says:

    Ooops! Missed it by that much. LOL

  1. So awesome. I prefer low lighting, myself (unless I'm reading or something.) Back in Canada I primarily lit my home with colored light bulbs, interior Xmas lights & candles. It was like a fairy land in my living room (where I had quite a bit of glass furniture to reflect it all over the place,) & even a local millionaire with a cabin on the lake featuring historic antiques used to love coming to visit. (Charles tends to like bright light everywhere, all the time.)

  1. Julie says:

    Very nice candles! What is encircling the white candle?

  1. I only use candles when the lights go out, but these are really nice! :)

  1. I didn't get one posted today...
    But I read back through your posts and can't believe what all you've been through! Yikes! Many congrats on your job success. That was a squeaker. I'm glad you made it!
    Hubman got laid off three weeks ago, so we're now a statistic!
    I haven't been blogging a whole lot so thanks for letting me play catch up....
    ~~~Blessings~~~
  1. I have come here from Mr. Travis Ervin's blog. I have read some of your posts. I would revisit for reading more literature from you.
    If you like short stories and paintings, then a short visit to my blogs wold be an entertaining one.
  1. Cool! I like your favorite candle too... it's lovely!
    You can check out my MM if you're masochistic and like to torture yourself. It's pretty lame. I had a REALLY hard time with this word for some reason.
    :) Happy Monday! (and Tuesday, since that's when you'll be reading this, I'm sure!)
  1. I have that first candle, too. I sold PartyLite for a few years, so, yes, I recognize it!
    I'm with Akelamalu..gotta love the candlelight.
    Thaks for visiting my blog again Trav...I jsut wanted to say hi. This last week kicked my butt. I need to go read the rest of your posts and catch up!
  1. Raven says:
    I love your candle holder. I miss burning candles, but I just fear that Angel would burn the place down if I lit one so they are off limits for the moment. That last photo really is lovely.
  1. Those are wonderful candles and I absolutely love that wrought Iron candle holder.
  1. Cherie: HA! Looks like we posted at the same time.
    Lana: There are times when we like a lot of light, and other times we don't.
    Julie: That's a shallow ceramic bowl with plastic strawberries around it.
    Terra: We like them all the time.
    Gracie: Things are falling out really well for me. I wish you the same good fortune.
    Naval: Thanks for stopping by. One of my goals for 2009 is to spend more time writing fiction and poetry.
    Clancy: Some of the words are more difficult than others.
    Songbird: That candle holder was a gift. It just might have come from one of those party thingies.
    Hope: I sure know that feeling.
    Raven: Mr Tucker usually doesn't bother the candles, but we're always careful only to burn them when we're in the room and can keep an eye on him.
    Jamie: The wrought iron is nice, isn't it?
  1. Janna says:
    I love candles!
    Especially the scented ones.
