Friday Feets - Trav's Walk-about Adventures

Welcome to Chapter 4 of my feature. I'm on a quest to fight the crippling effects of chronic pain from an old knee injury by getting out and walking. You can trace my journey by clicking here.

We finally had fantastic weather on a Saturday. So last weekend we stopped at Sears for a quick oil change. Then we fortified ourselves at Denny's with a couple of Grand Slamwich breakfasts. And then we headed on over to Seattle Center.

From the website:

Seattle Center brings together people of all ages and walks of life to create thousands of extraordinary experiences that enrich millions of lives each year. Entertainment options abound - starting with 63 free and low cost public programs and over 5,000 events annually. The 74-acre campus is home to more than 30 cultural, educational, sports and entertainment organizations. This treasured urban park exists to delight and inspire the human spirit and bring our rich and varied community together. Come discover why so many are drawn to the Center!

I've got a ton of pictures, so come along on a little tour.

Key Arena is where the Sonics used to play. It remains the home of the Storm of the WNBA. And it's still an excellent venue for concerts.

The Science Fiction Museum is in the Center. You can buy a day pass that includes a tour through the SFM as well as the Experience Music Project.

Amid all that beauty and serenity...FUN!

I hope you enjoyed our walk about the Seattle Center.

Hey, I love this! Last year my daughter and I went there and it was really pretty. Lucky you! You get to walk in such a scenic place. I will have to do the same --walk and take photos for my blog.

Oh, the funniest thing happened today! There was a fight on my blog! Really!!

  1. Linda says:

Good thing I put on my walking shoes before I read your post! What a great walk-about and everything was just so beautiful! I think I like the picture of the Space Needle the best, very cool!!

How are your walks doing for your pain? My right leg has been acting up lately and I was thinking earlier today that maybe walking a bit might help. Of course, the rain stopping out here might help to but sometimes I think I moved to Seattle and forget to tell myself!

  1. cathy says:

    Great pics.
    How is your knee?
    Have you tried swimming?

  1. Great shots, Travis. It looks like a great place.

  1. Starr: It's a great city.

Barb: We've been to the museum and it's a great way to spend an afternoon.

    Akelamalu: It is.

Jeni: It's so nice just to sit by the fountain and watch the people play.

Thom: I think you'll enjoy SYTYCD. It's about talented kids getting a change.

Jennifer: I'm really enjoying seeing more of the city myself.

Kanani: Now you could put my little walk about feature to shame once you get out to Savannah!

Linda: Well, I'm still suffering. But at least I'm not letting it keep me down. And that's the most important thing.

Cathy: Unfortunately I don't swim. But I am continuing to explore options for controlling the pain.

Southern: It's got the right mix of fun and relaxation.

  1. Julie says:

I love that little pagoda! At least I think that's what it looks like. And I find it amazing that people aren't swarming these places!

Very nice little walk about Travis! Especially the little cluster of tulips!
