That's how we do that!

My Lakers finally put together back-to-back sustained efforts and closed out Denver last night on the road to win the Western Conference finals for the second straight year. I really like that they were able to get this done in Denver. It gives me confidence that they can win a key game on the road if they must.

And they dominated, stepping up the intensity to answer every challenge that Denver offered. The bench played well. The defense was cohesive. They controlled the boards. And they shot the ball well. It was an impressive close out road victory.

But I'm not ready to start talking any kind of smack here. That'll happen if and only if the boys can get 4 more wins and take the NBA championship.

I will say I'm very pleased at last night's result. They looked more like the champions I think they can be, rather than mere contenders.

Now it's just a matter of waiting to see whether Orlando closes out Cleveland tonight, or whether the Cavs can take one more step toward a grand recovery.

Congrats...and they certainly made a statement yesterday. I think they are going to be hard to beat :)

  1. The dance group "Diversity" won Britain's got talent with Susan Boyle second. You can watch clip on my blog or you tube.

  1. While the NBA and the media so desperately wanted Kobe vs. LeBron, I think Orlando vs. the Lakers is a better series. The Magic have more than just one player and will give LA a good fight.

  1. Barb: I love it when my Lakers are playing well!

    Akelamalu: Me too!

    Charles: Thanks!

    Thom: Let's hope so!

Jamie: I'll have to check that out. And go Dodgers too!

Southern: The Magic have a great inside player in Dwight Howard. And their outside game makes them balanced. It's going to be a good series.

  1. YOU talk "smack?"
    Bwaahahhhaaahhhha...

  1. Mimi: I have been known to talk a little trash.

  1. We're not happy about the way the Eastern Conference turned out, as you can imagine. Not happy. AT ALL.
