Cue that theme music!

It's live from Hollywood!

Let's see what we've got for encores from Monday's performance show. If you read my recap, you can probably guess what I chose.

Aaron and Karina had a fun and extremely sharp Quickstep, danced to The Theme from the Muppet Show. Click here.

Mya and Dmitry challenged for dance of the night with their sexy Jive. As my pal Anndi pointed out, this dance had some elements of Fosse in it. Click here.

I gotta give dance of the night to Donny and Kym for their theatrical Jive. It had all the performance elements it needed and it was clean and sharp. And Pam said it was the dance of the night. Who am I to argue? Click here.

Those three couples had the stand out performances, and any of them would have been worthy of dance of the night. It's all a matter of opinion and what you like. Everyone else was jammed together in a pack separated by just a couple of points.

Here's the leader board.

27 Mya and Dmitry
27 Aaron and Karina
25 Donny and Kym
21 Mark and Lacey
21 Natalie and Alec
21 Debi and Maks
20 Michael and Anna D
20 Joanna and Derek
19 Kelly and Louis
19 Louie and Chelsie
19 Melissa and Mark
19 Chuck and Anna T
18 Tom and Cheryl
18 Kathy and Tony

Our judges select the Jive from Mya and Dmitry as their encore.

So who is safe? Well I'll tell you. Donny and Kym are safe. Mya and Dmitry are safe. Aaron and Karina are safe.

Joss Stone is in the ballroom, accompanied by pro dancers Jeremy Hudson and Mallory Escoval. Nice.

I wasn't aware that the pairs all rehearsed in a single training center. That's pretty cool.

More results. Mark and Lacey are safe. Natalie and Alec are safe.

Selena Gomez is in the ballroom now. We nearly forwarded through it, but then Karina and Derek came out to dance, so we suffered through the singing.

And results again. Joanna and Derek are safe. Michael and Anna D are safe. Chuck and Anna T are safe. Melissa and Mark are safe. Kelly and Louis are safe.

Macy's Stars of Dance features Stomp the Yard accompanied by the USC Trojan Marching Band. High energy. Amazing tricks. And lots of fun. Cool!

Joss Stone returns with Son of a Preacher Man. She does a decent job with the song, but when I think of this song I think of Dusty Springfield. Ms Stone is accompanied by Anna T & Dmitry and Cheryl & Louis.

Here we go with eliminations now. Tom and Cheryl are safe. LLVito and Chelsie are safe.

That means Kathy & Tony and Debi & Maks are in the bottom two.

Debi and Maks are safe.

Kathy and Tony are out. It's a shame that she didn't have a little more time to get comfortable with the dancing. She's a classy lady.

Tune in next Monday when our 13 remaining couples dance Samba or Rumba.

And don't forget we've got more auditons from So You Think You Can Dance tonight!

ACK! I fell asleep, had programmed my VCR and forgot to turn it off so no tape. :(

    Dang dang dang...

Sad to see Kathy go, she had class and really did focus on technique.

Even Donny and Kym did the frug hands!

  1. Figured Kathy did not have the support from the fans...interesting Tony seemed to be trying to say that she would not let him into a tighter hold during judging the other night...is she too conservative and did not want him too close?

I could not watch the Disney kid...

Liked Joss' first number but I agree Ms Springfield owns that song.

I wish Tony could have stayed longer, he needs a better partner season after season

I was wondering how 6 rehearsal rooms divides into 14 couples who claim to train 12 to 16 hours a day

can't help it, I'm like that about silly details

  1. Linda says:

I actually did manage to catch Donny & Kym's Jive the other night and even though I didn't see many of the other dances, I've got to agree with Pam on her assessment! I kind of liked the purple suit, too ...

  1. I missed it last night, thanks for the recaps! Did you hear Lacey got hurt too!

  1. Excellent review, but speaking of Fosse, when I think of Son of A Preacher Man then it is Liza Minnelli in Liza With A Z

  1. Akelamalu says:

You enjoy this programme so much don't you? :)

  1. I stopped on the channel the other night in time to watch Kathy get voted off. She looks great, though I have to admit I couldn't figure out who she was at first.

  1. I saw Ireland interviewed on GMA this morning. what a class act!

I loved "Secret Agent Man" and Donny. But I think he is having a more difficult time than Marie did...?

I still would like to see Louis and Kelly go to the finals...but those are my sentimental choices.

Ann: Well that's just sad...to fall asleep on dancing.

V: I didn't watch the Disney kid, just Karina and Derek.

Dianne: I wondered the same thing about the rehearsal rooms.

    Linda: It really was good.

Starr: I did hear something about an arm injury.

Jamie: Really? I'll have to check it out. I wasn't aware of Liza's version.

    Akelamalu: I do.

Mags: I was hoping she would last at least another week.

    Katherine: I don't know...I think he's actually doing a little better.

Thanks for the recap Travis...the stoopid channel wasn't working...it was OFF THE AIR! Can you believe it?
