Sunday NFL recap

It's really irritating not to have my graphics.

I'll never be a Seahawks fan. It's jut not going to happen. I do love Pam though and we both despise the Rams. So it was sweet to watch Seattle lay the smack down on St Louis. QB Matt Hasselbeck threw for 279 yards on 25 of 36 with 3 TDs. He also threw 2 interceptions, one of which was in the end zone. Julius Jones rushed for 117 yards on 19 carries, including a terrific 62 yard sprint for a late TD. The Seahawks defense played reasonably well, although I suspect that the Rams just aren't very good.

Seattle is at San Francisco next week.

The 49ers pulled off the win in the desert against the defending NFC champs. SF couldn't run the ball. QB Shaun Hill only threw for 209 yards on 18 of 31. But SF stopped Arizona when they had to and held on for the win. The 49ers defense held the Cardinals running game in check, forcing QB Kurt Warner to put the ball in the air. He threw for 288 yards on 26 of 44 with a TD, but he also threw a couple of interceptions. It's a gutty win on the road for SF.

San Francisco hosts Seattle next week.

We didn't really have good games to watch on this first NFL Sunday. We did get to see that tip play for Denver that allowed them to beat Cincinnati. And being honest, the Seattle game really wasn't very good although the result was good. I don't like Minnesota or Cleveland, and that was one of the other games that was on today.

And there may have been some late fireworks in the game between Chicago and Green Bay, but you can't call it a good game.

I can report that I've gone 11-3 so far with my picks, with two games left to play. I made the "smart" pick of New England against Buffalo, but I made the pick of my heart taking Oakland over San Diego.

I know. But you ask any member of Raider Nation and they'll all tell you that they won't pick the Chargers over our beloved Raiders. It's just not done.

I miss my laptop.

They switched over to the 49ers game after the completion of the Seahawks game so I was able to see the end of it. What a nail biter!

I know Pam will disagree with me, but I sure would like to see the niners with a win next week to go up 2-0 in the division.

  1. The only game I watched all the way through was the Saints/Lions. I caught all the recaps later though.

  1. Didn't get to see much other than the Green Bay/Chicago game. Not a great game for sure, but there was some serious hitting going on.
My fantasy team is doing well, I have the lead and a couple of opportunities to score more points tonight.
Are you ready for some football!!!

  1. Jeff: I was pleased to see the finish of the 49ers. And there will be some tension for next week's game. I think the NFC West is going to be wide open this year.

Charles: I heard that Brees played very well.

Driller: Congrats on the fantasy success. I'm not a player...I'd end up having to root for players or teams that I just don't like, and I can't do it.

  1. I don't like goin' against Pam either...but I'm with Jeff.
