They say that the most exciting play in baseball is the triple.

Wrong!

The most exciting play in baseball is any hit with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game!

My Dodgers took advantage of an error by St Louis in the outfield with 2 outs to start the rally. Ronnie Belliard got a base hit to tie the game at 2-2. Then Mark Loretta got the game winning single.

Now my Dodgers have a 2 games to 0 lead heading to St Louis for game 3 on Saturday. This was the 29th time LA has won a game in its last at bat this season.

Excellent!

  1. I ADORE THAT SONG!!!

    Baseball....eyes spinning....:P

  1. And now the Cards are whining about white towels! LOL

That ball to Matt Holliday is one of the toughest to catch. Right at you, sinking line drive. It handcuffed him...he said it went into the lights...he never mentioned white towels...

can you bet that they will be handing out thousands of white towels in St. Louis this weekend! LOLOLOLOL

  1. Congrats to your Dodgers.

  1. I'm so not a baseball person, but I agree, those ninth inning wins are exciting. I remember going crazy when the D-Backs won in 2001 on Gonzo's bloop single. Whew!

You're so cute when you get excited about your sports teams :)

    :-D)

  1. Speaking of things on the side, I said something nice about you today on my blog.

  1. Starr: It's a good one.

V: Really? I hadn't heard that. It was a tough loss, but they still had chances to get the last out after the error. The error didn't have to cost them the game.

    Charles: Thanks!

Songbird: When they happen in the WS, they are extra special!

Ann: I thought of other Peace songs, but I didn't think of any better ones.

    NNG: Cool!

Lois: It does when my Dodgers are doing well!

    Jamie: Well thanks!

  1. My husband's a big Cat Stevens fan - we have a double greatest hits CD. I really like one of the songs from the Harold and Maude soundtrack - Trouble.

Wild World is another big favorite.

Yep! I think I do agree with you on that being the most exciting part of a ball game. Triple plays -yeah, they do rank highly but when a big play is the one that wins or finishes the game, that just can't be beat!
Now -Go Dodgers! (Oh yeah, I am a Pirates fan but always loved the Dodgers too! Everybody needs a winner now and then and my poor Pirates aren't too good at that, are they?)
