While on rounds last night, I dropped by my pal John's place at Altjiranga Mitjina and saw this terrible news.
Marine PFC Jason Estopinal, of Dallas, Georgia, was killed by an IED on Monday. He was 21 years old.
I didn't know the young man, but John did. Please visit his blog to read a moving tribute to a life ended all too soon.

Oh it's so sad. There are another five of our soldiers being repatriated today. :(
I have already seen this and it and John's tribute brought tears to my eyes...
We have lost so many young people to this unnecessary war. He was a hero. It's a shame our politicians are such cowards.
Another brave young soldier pays the ultimate sacrafice for God and country. Rest well, Jason.
Sigh. I don't even know how to say "I'm sorry, my condolences" again....it's so tragic. Again.
