Sometimes I just don't know where my musical ear is headed for these Sets until something pops up on my Ipod or I hear something on the radio. And then there are the times when I get an ear worm. That's what happened this week.

For Set 12, I bring you Tommy James and the Shondells.

I thought I would update the guidelines for anyone new who decides to play. They are basic and simple.

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.
2. Go to Playlist.com to make your play list of five songs. You may choose a particular theme to share with us, or post random tunes if that's your vibe for the day. You can simply post the play list, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.
2a. Don't feel restricted by the tracks listed on Playlist.com. You're welcome to use any type of media to share your Sets.
3. Be sure to sign Mr Linky so everyone can visit your Set.
4. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

Go forth and enjoy music!

Once again great picks! I enjoyed listening some to each one of these!

  1. Goodness haven't heard those in years. What a great list. Mine is because Hank did it his way.

  1. Crimson and Clover! Love that one. I have to admit my favorite version of Mony Mony is Billy Idol's.

"Crystal Blue Persuasion" was always one of my favorites. Listening to this music takes me way back but it's an enjoyable trip!

I went with one of my favorite country artists this week - Brad Paisley - and some of his slower, mostly heartbreak, music.

  1. I've posted Rod Stewart Travis for this week. Your music again is from my day... Dancing in the dark at frat or sorority parties...

  1. OH yeah, I remember. Tommy James and the Shondells were really my introduction to rock and roll. Especially loved Crimson and clover and crystal blue persuasion.

  1. I LOVE TJ & TS one of the first groups I learned to play on the Bass Guitar

he has a new Bio out...you know they turned down an invite to Woodstock and he got tangled up with some unsavory gents ...

  1. Oh these bring back some sweet memories. Thanks Travis!

  1. The Shondells! I love it!
"Crystal Blue Persuasion" was such a haunting tune. I must have heard it a million times as a teenager.
There was something "sinful" about it my mother couldn't quite understand.

    That's why I liked it.
