  1. Travis - is it any wonder that your favorite musical theatre choices could be my own? I do prefer Gerard Butler's Phantom performance to anyone else's - I love the acting he did through the singing. I always prefer that to pure technique, even in dance. And second after Gerry is Colm Wilkinson's Phantom, which I was privileged to see when I lived in Toronto.

But Colm's Les Miz song will do! West Side Story - massive fave of mine. Quintet is my favorite from that one. And I posted Gene Wilder's Pure Imagination over at my blog for my 2nd Blogiversary. Gene is so amazing in that song. He's amazing in anything.

  1. I sobbed my way through "Bring Him Home" twice while attending Les Miserable and you have my all time favorite Webber song, "Love Changes Everything". Very nice group.

I'm tipping my Friday hat to Springtime.

Hi Trav! Thanks for sharing your music. Love ALW! I enjoy reading other people's comments, too. I have to admit that I am with 100% with Julia about Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean - his "Bring Him Home" is tops! If I played today, I would have an all Simon and Garfunkel list. I heard their tour date on the news this morning. . .

  1. Travis great selection.I went with Steely Dand for mine.I see you added an extra.

  1. Oh - I forgot to mention that Love Changes Everything is also a major fave. Thanks Jamie for the reminder!

I wasn't familiar with some of those... but they were all great.

Less nerd music this week on my list. I've linked to five ASL song interpretations by Stephen Torrence.

    Nice choices Trav. :)

  1. Marilyn says:

Have I been doing that every week?

It sort of explains a lot... I bet I've been doing that on other memes too. Whoever fixed it (((big hugs)))

  1. Set 13?? You're getting to be a serious memer, Dancing Bee.

Don't forget to remind me to tell you my "Bring Him Home" story sometime. Sigh.

  1. Ivanhoe says:

Barbra is da best! I still have yet to see the classics like the West Side Story, Cats and Les Miserables. But I saw Hair, Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera and Mama Mia. I'm on my way! :)

  1. Julia: I did enjoy the POTO movie, but for me there is no other voice for the Phantom than Michael Crawford.

Jamie: Regrettably, I've never seen Les Miz.

GGG: Colm Wilkinson's Valjean is unparalleled.

Mike: I hadn't intended to do that. I meant to delete that song.

Marilyn: That's the best part of this feature...finding music that is unfamiliar.

    Akelamalu: Thanks!

NNG: Music is always good for memory!

Mimi: Perhaps a post for next week?

Ivanhoe: I saw a local production of West Side Story in Glendale CA that was simply amazing.

  1. I never got here Friday to link in...sorry

Not a huge musical fan, but enjoyed this set

Brilliant minds almost think alike as when I was contemplating a Friday Five last week, I was looking for show tunes but couldn't find the ones I wanted on Playlist.com. Of course if I could figure out how to download my own music, I'd just have to rip the songs off of my CDs and voila, I'd have exactly what I want!

As it was though, I ran out of time to even do a Friday Five so have kept the idea in the back of my mind for another time and thoroughly enjoyed your list instead - particularly the music from Phantom and West Side Story.
