Cue that theme music...

It's encores and results live from Hollywood!

I have just two encore routines for you today.  There were several dances we enjoyed, but these two were far and away my favorites.

Karina's wonderfully playful choreography and JR's charismatic delivery hi-light this charming Foxtrot danced to the theme from Pink Panther.  I couldn't find a short clip, so you can scroll forward to about the 2:12 mark.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Derek worked his choreographer's magic on the theme from Psycho to create an amazing Tango, which Ricki executed to near perfection.  A short clip was missing for this dance too, so you can scroll forward to about the 2:19 mark.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Outstanding!

Here's a reminder of our leader board after Monday's performances:

29 Ricki and Derek
26 JR and Karina
24 Hope and Maks
24 Rob and Cheryl
23 David and Kym
21 Nancy and Tristan
21 Chynna and Tony
21 Chaz and Lacey
20 Carson and Anna

Raphael Saadiq leads off the show with a rousing cover of Soul Man.  I'm so out of touch with today's music that I hadn't heard of this young man, but I really enjoyed the performance.

Susan Boyle performs her cover of Unchained Melody, accompanied by Peta and Val.  Quite lovely.

First results...Ricki and Derek are safe.  JR and Karina are safe.

Our very own Julianne Hough dances with co-star Kenny Wormald to a slow version of the song Holding Out for a Hero.  Then Blake Shelton performs the song Footloose, accompanied by Julianne and Kenny with a gang of dancers who may or may not be from the film.  The movie premiers this Friday.  I still don't know why it was necessary to remake it, particularly since the trailer makes it seem like almost an exact copy of the original, just set in 2011 instead of 1984.

More results...Chaz and Lacey are safe.  Carson and Anna are safe.

Wooooooooo!!!  Julianne and Derek, dancing together again!  HA!  I love that Julianne is having such success away from the show.  But DAMN!  I do miss seeing her dance.  Between them, these two have 5 of the 12 Fantastic Mirror Ball trophies awarded.

More results...Hope and Maks are safe.  David and Kym are safe.

OK, now we're down to it and I'm worried about Chynna.  I'm not sure she has the fan base to overcome the complete break down from Monday.  I guess we're about to find out.

Final results...Nancy and Tristan are safe.  Rob and Cheryl are safe.

That means Chynna and Tony are eliminated.

Dangit.  I thought she had so much potential.  But she forgot her dance and she just didn't have the fan vote to get past it.

Tune in next week when our remaining 8 pairs face 80s week.  Yeah, I'm already skeered!

Later gang!

I'm counting down to 4 November with 30 days of Peace quotes and 100 reasons to blog for Peace.

  1. Ricki is really stunning. I think of her as "talky and funny" so this rhythmic and musical center is a very pleasant surprise.

  1. I agree with Jamie, Ricki Lake has been a very pleasant surprise.

I kinda like David..but more so 'cause he is such a goof. I like goofy guys.

But I don't really have a favorite dancer. yet.
