Sunday observations

WOW! Brett Favre made a great fake and completed a deep pass. That's about as good as you can run a play action pass. I've never been a fan of Favre, but there's no doubt he is having a special year.

I just saw a defensive back for Jacksonville get called for unnecessary roughness. He hit a receiver just after the catch, leading with his shoulder. The hit was hard and legal in my estimation. It happened quick, and the only think I can think is that it happened so fast that the ref thought he went helmet to helmet. He did not. The defender hit with his shoulder. It was a high hit and a hard hit, but I thought it was legal. The Chargers scored a TD on the next play after the catch and 15 yard penalty. It's important to clean up over-aggressive hits designed to injure, but that hit wasn't one of those.

Well, I did ok for the morning games although my Raiders ended up losing. They were competitive again though.

Pam is already growling about the Seahawks as they kick off short to the Bears, then give up a TD on a long rush, and then drive down and miss a field goal. Not a good beginning.

So I'm a little embarrassed. It isn't often I sleep through the afternoon games. But sometimes a guy just needs a nap. And Pam was so quiet while her Seahawks were playing well and beating Chicago. I'm sorry I missed that. It's what she's been waiting for all season.

What's up with Pittsburgh? Every time I start to think they are one of the elite teams in the NFL, they do something like lose to the Jets.

Well, time to really wake up and get ready to see if Buffalo can beat New England. It could happen.

  1. you must have needed the nap!

(Pam probably wanted to make sure you got your rest so you can practice what you were preaching during Turnbaby's Blog Talk Radio show....smile)

  1. Lazy Sundays are the best.

After watching tonights game I think you would have been better off extending your nap.

I want the punters job for the Pats. Only one punt. That's some easy money.

  1. Katherine: I guess I did. And I have no idea what you are referring to. LOL!

Mimi: If that's so, then I had a good day.

    Jeff: You might be right.

My uncle and father were watching some game today and my uncle said re Brett Favre, "I just want to grab that hair and a pair of scissors!"
