You find the strangest things

We met my folks at a car show this weekend at the Lucky Eagle Casino. I forgot my camera...DOH!
We saw a '55 and a '57 TBird...no '56, but that's ok. There was also a '54 Corvette and a '68 Camero, and a '68 Cougar. These are all favorites of mine.
Pam enjoys the older models, 1940s era mostly. She's partial to 1946 model fat fendered Fords. She also loves the older Model A's. There weren't many of those, but we did see a 1932 yellow roadster.
We also nearly got fooled by an aluminum body Mustang Cobra with a Shelby engine. My stepdad was sure it was the real deal when we walked up to it. But then we saw the plate on the engine block...it was a replica. But it was a damn fine replica.
And we had some fantastic food at the seafood buffet. I'm not usually a fan of seafood, but the shrimp and fried crab was terrific. And I had a rib eye steak. Everyone else went for the grilled sole or salmon steak. They had oysters on the half shell and crab legs and lobster tails and all the fixings too. And all that delicious surf and turf was only about $25 a plate. Plus, there was all kinds of CAKE!

Of course, the most unusual thing we saw was in the rest rooms. It used to be, you went to a public rest room, took care of business, washed up, and that was that. These days though, everything is automated...so much so that sometimes you have to pause and read the dang directions just to figure out where the dang sensor is.
Ever felt like an idiot pressing on the soap dispenser when all you had to do was wave your hand in the right place? Then it squirts all over the counter because you didn't have your other hand in the right spot to catch it. Grrrrr.
So these days you've got your motion sensor flush toilets, your motion sensor soap dispenser, your motion sensor water faucets, and your motion sensor paper towel dispenser. Or your motion sensor electric hand dryer. It's a wonder there's no motion sensor toilet paper dispenser.
But I'll tell you what we do have. We've got motion sensor automated toilet seat covers. I kid you not.
Mom and Pam thought these were the cat's meow. Of course I had to march right back into the men's room and check the stalls...damned if they didn't have them in there too! You could either wave your hand in front of the sensor for a new cover, or press a button on the side of the dispenser.
Wacky!
Has anybody else seen these things? It was a first for us and quite a thrill.

I love old cars, they have so much more character than new ones.
Mmmmm the food sounds good, I love seafood, but then I love steak too!
Automated restrooms are so much more hygenic, I like the seat covers, I wish all restrooms had those!
