I'm sorry I haven't been around to your blogs this week. I promise I'll be catching up soon.

Welcome to the second night of Vegas callbacks.

Last week we saw cuts down to 77 dancers on our way to the Season 6 Top 20. Judges are Tyce DiOrio, Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, Debbie Allen, Mary Murphy, and Nigel Lythgoe.

Laurie Ann Gibson choreographs the next round, Jazz. The champion ballroom dancer was cut in this round. But the krumper did make it and he interests me. Only 69 dancers make it through to group round.

The group round is always full of carnage. Dancers have to be creative and cooperative. The kids are so tired by this point, and often they end up working all night. Some of them knock it out, while others fail miserably.

Moving on the contemporary round with Mia Michaels. With Mia, if your body can understand, survive, and interpret the movement she creates, you can have a moment on this show. Few dancers are that special. I love it when a hip hop dancer or a B-boy or a krumper finds the joy in other dance styles and goes to class to learn. There were several who absolutely shined in Mia's choreography. I think this is the most emotional round, because most of the dancers find something out about themselves when they open themselves completely to Mia's movement.

Tyce DiOrio takes the remaining dancers through a Broadway piece. Guys and gals will dance in separate groups. Bianca, our tapping gal, has made it through into the group from which the Top 10 gals will be chosen. I wasn't impressed with what Tyce put together for the guys, but the intriguing krumper made it into the group from which we'll get our Top 10 guys.

Each remaining dancer got one final solo, and we'll have to wait a week to find out which of them will be in our Top 20.

Remember, we're counting down the days to 5 November 2009 with Peace Quotes.

    Nice review *chuckle*...

I wasn't bowled over by Tyce's work either.

I loved seeing Legacy experience the magic that can come from Mia's work and the personal revelation that he really does need to dance. I love that woman, with all her faults. I have that number from SYTYCD Canada up on my blog. Perfection.

The krumper intrigues me as well.

    Yay!! Bianca!!!

  1. Glad you are enjoying.

  1. Only saw the first 15 minutes and then crashed so I did not read all the way through so I can experience it. Oh got here via the crackberry and I get to see pictures!

  1. Yeah Tyce's left me look warm as well. It was carnage last night. That ankle shot was GROSS!

So glad you're enjoying the series.

  1. Ann: I've got my fingers crossed for Bianca. I feel pretty confident that the krumper will make it. If so, then I've got a couple of early favorites.

    Charles: I am so far.

V: Cool! That's one way to defeat those dang IT police!

Starr: I didn't see the ankle issue the first time, and I turned my head on the replay. There have been some ugly injuries this season.

    Akelamalu: It's my thing.
