Encores and results

Last night was the Festival of Tiny Costumes. The costumes weren't all that tiny though. But we did have some good dancing and I'll share a few of my favorites with you.
Kelly and Louis had a solid Samba. What I liked about her effort was that she stayed focused and didn't let the pressure get to her. And she looked like she enjoyed what she was doing. Click here to enjoy the dance.
Of course Pam enjoyed the Rumba from Donny and Kym. It wasn't among the best of the dances, but it wasn't among the worst either. Donny is an excellent performer and the dance was pleasant. Click here to enjoy the dance.
Natalie took a huge step forward with her Rumba. She took Edyta's advice and overcame her embarrassment to really connect with Alec. This could easily have been our choice for dance of the night. Click here to enjoy the dance.
Dance of the night honors go to Mya and Dmitry. Mr Cranky Pants may have thought their Rumba was too complicated. I thought it was perfect. Click here to enjoy the dance.
Here's a reminder of the leader board from Monday:
27 Mya and Dmitry
26 Natalie and Alec
23 Joanna and Derek
21 Donny and Kym
21 Aaron and Karina
20 Louie and Chelsie
20 Kelly and Louis
19 Melissa and Mark
18 Mark and Lacey
17 Chuck and Anna T
17 Debi and Maks
15 Tom and Cheryl
14 Michael and Anna D
The judges inexplicably select the Samba from Chuck and Anna T as the encore performance.
Queen Latifa is in the ballroom, accompanied by Cheryl and Maks.
Results! Tom and Cheryl are safe. Chuck and Anna T are safe.
Although they made it through, Tom DeLay was forced to withdraw from the competition due to the injuries to his feet. He would have done Texas Two Step next week. Because their scores and votes did keep them in the competition this week, Mr DeLay has been invited back to perform the dance should his injury heal enough to allow it.
And, the producers will honor the scores and votes and eliminate the couple with the lowest combined totals of scores and votes.
More results. Mya and Dmitry are safe. Natalie and Alec are safe. Donny and Kym are safe. Louie and Chelsie are safe. Mark and Lacey are safe.
Sabrina Bryan has been voted into the Macy's Design a Dance. She'll be dancing Paso Doble, and the vote is now open to choose the pro she'll dance with.
Macy's Stars of Dance features Jabbawockeez! I love these guys! Excellent! It was Singing in the Rain with a hip hop twist. They danced classic steps mixed with hip hop, then went to a full on hip hop routine. Outstanding. And they were joined by mystery dancers...Lacey and Mark.
Queen Latifa returns to sing Ease On Down the Road. The dancers she had with her were terrific!
And results. Kelly and Louis are safe. Melissa and Mark are safe. Joanna and Derek are safe. Aaron and Karina are safe.
That puts Michael and Anna D in the bottom two with Debi and Maks.
Michael and Anna are safe, so Debi and Maks are out.
We get four brand new dance styles next week...Bolero, Charleston, Texas Two Step, and Lambada. Should be an interesting night of performances.
Don't forget to check it out!

it's really interesting how leading with the judges and still being in "peril" can go hand in hand
I was surprised that Carter was in peril
I'm really liking Natalie now
I'm sorry about Debi but not surprised
thanks for another good round up!!
