We're counting down from T minus 33 days. Be sure to join us on 5 November 2009 by flying your Globe under the post title Dona Nobis Pacem. If you're new to the Peace Globe movement, please go here to view the Peace Globe Gallery and here to learn how to make your own Peace Globe. Or you can email me and I'll be happy to help you.

I believe that words have power, so this matters.

The Silence of Peace, Papa's Marbles
The Doll Box

My silly Dodgers host Colorado for 3 games to close out the season, starting tonight. The Rockies are just 2 games behind LA for the NL West championship.

All my silly Dodgers need to do is win 1 out of 3, because if they get swept then Colorado will be the division champs and my silly Dodgers will be the Wild Card after leading the division for most of the season. Unfortunately, my silly Dodgers have lost 4 in a row while the Rockies have won 4 in a row.

Maybe that means we're due.

Sheesh. This is not the way to gather momentum heading into the post season.

Monday is the big day around here. The remedial construction began on our condo complex back on 9 September. It arrives at my building on Monday.

So this is what's happening over the next 4-6 weeks:

    • Demo - remove all exterior siding, paper, insulation, plywood, and decking
    • Repair any water intrustion damage
    • Replace windows
    • Replace plywood and insulation with undamaged existing material or new material
    • Re-wrap and replace with new paper and siding
    • Repair any interior nail pops or other damage caused by exterior construction
    • Re-build decks
    • Bring external stairways to code
    • Repaint or replace front doors
    • Paint siding

You don't even want to know the price tag. But it's worth it. I'll be taking pictures of the progress, which I'll share with you as soon as I get my new laptop.

This is one of the reasons I haven't had a chance to make rounds. We've spent the last week getting stuff moved over to storage so there's room to move our furniture away from perimeter walls. The good news is that our second bedroom is empty of clutter. When the construction is finished, we'll have our office.

So I'm hoping to catch up on rounds over the next few days. Have a grand weekend!

I remember when I was about 7, my parents and I embarked on my first ever trip on an airplane (I think it may have been my parents' first as well). We were going to California to see my dad's twin and older brother and their families.
During that trip, Uncle John took Dad to a Dodgers game. Brotherly bonding... So... I wish your silly Dodgers luck :) Go Dodgers!

Poor Mr Tucker might need extra snuggles and treats to stand all the upheaval those ... wait, construction guys? Will they be hunky? Should I be careful of visiting Trav's Place in my bathrobe?

      Dancin' kitteh! WOOOO!!!

    1. If it will make you feel better...our place is still under destruction! How long has this been going on now? Over a year! I'll have to post about it soon. Have a great weekend Travis.

Good luck with the construction. I hope they get it done correctly and in good time. It's not fun being in a construction zone... do post pics!

Stay sane and take care of your kitty... strange noises may startle him.
