Just trying some stuff

Don't be alarmed if you see some stuff changing around here.

I published my first post in this space on 28 October 2006.  The template has never changed.  In fact, I've never upgraded my template because I'm afraid to lose stuff.  I tried to customize the template once, but it was complicated and my heart really wasn't in it.

Well, I'm going to try again.  I've decided I want something that looks and feels more like me.

The first thing I'm trying is the upgraded post editor.  I know that doesn't seem like much, but I'm taking baby steps here.

Another thing I've done is to create a second blog for my poetry.  It's very cleverly called Poetry By Travis.  Original eh?  I've posted the very first poem I ever wrote as my first entry.  It's curiously relevant 20 years later.

Wish me luck!

It's good to have a change but like you I don't have the nerve to do something really radical in case I lose everything! Still small changes can make all the difference. :)

Trav: Absolutely! I'll wish you good luck. I noticed the change as soon as your page started to load. Clever name for the poetry section. ;-)

  1. Love the header. It's beautiful and very reflective of you. Good luck with finding a final product that you really love.

Wow! Extremely impressive Travis! I'm excited for you new home! Much like the condo renovation, huh? Congratulations all the way around!

  1. Nice Travis...Love the header.

See, it was not that scary!

  1. I LOVE IT! (sorry for shouting)

I love the changes, Trav! Especially your new mooney header. Love love love :) Keep it going in baby steps.

  1. Cool changes. I know what you mean, I'm always afraid when I start making changes. It takes me probably twice as long because I really don't know what I'm doing.

You know how I feel about changing the template around. Go for it man!

Apparently I am not afraid of change as I change my template often! My motto is there's nothing that can break that I can't un-break! You DO know that you can backup your blog and then import into another blog, or just save the backup file on your computer, right? Mmmm-hmmm.

I've subscribed to your poetry feed... you know I always enjoy your poetry!

    Big hugs xo

  1. It's all looking fabulous! :) Change is good. Embrace it.

  1. Akelamalu: The update went OK. But now I want to change the template completely to a new design. That I'm struggling with.

GGG: I can live with how it looks now, but I do hope I can get the completely new look I've found.

Jamie: I think I've found one. Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong to get it ready to change over.

Julie: It is like the condo renovation! And sometimes just as frustrating. But like the changes to the condo, I just have to get through the hard parts.

V: It wasn't! But now I'm stuck with the new template I want.

    Mimi: Shout away!

    TC: Thanks!

Ivanhoe: Taking my time with it is keeping the frustration level down. I just need to study a bit more to figure out why I can't download the new design I've selected.

John: Yup. It's probably taking me longer than it should. But so far I haven't destroyed anything. So I guess that's positive!

Jeff: Thanks for the encouragement. I finally convinced myself that I can do it.

Barb: I'm gaining that confidence slowly. If I can figure out why I'm having trouble downloading the new template codes, then I'll be good to go!

Clancy: I do! Thanks for the positive feedback!
