Welcome 2008!

I found this little feature at Shelby's. It takes the place of a 2007 retrospective, which I decided not to do this year.

You take the first sentence of the first post for each month of the year and put them all together.

January: I've been doing this for a couple weeks now - ever since I figured out what I was doing wrong when I tried to post music. Too bad the audiocodes site quit working. I really enjoyed doing the Tuesday Tunes feature.

February: For my Thursday 13 this week, I have decided to show my respect for the service of United States Marines. As many of you know by now, I have had a life long fascination and respect with all things military, in particular with the Marine Corps. If things had worked out, that would have been my career.

March: Good news for Harry Potter fans. Shortly after this post, it was announced that all three principle actors will finish out the final two Harry Potter films.

April: It's about that time to add a few more links to blogs I've been visiting. One of the things I really enjoy about blogging is finding new blogs.

May: Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!! Ha! You all know how dancing is near and dear to me. This is from the spring season last year, just after we bought the 42" Plasma and moved into the new condo.

June: The West Wing was my favorite show of all time. I still miss my show.

July: To all my wonderful friends in the Great White North, Happy Canada Day to you! I think it's important to honor the things that are important to your friends. And Partiotism is truly universal.

August: This was a Wordless Wendesday post featuring nature's perfect predator...sharks!

September: It's been a rough stretch y'all. End of August/beginning of September, I took a brief hiatus from blogging. During that time I got to enjoy hosting a couple of houseguests. The kitties will be joining Pam and I again next weekend for two months! Can't wait!

October: Welcome to the 36th edition of Manic Monday with Morgen. This is a good post about a nice memory featuring Orange Crush soda.

November: These are some pictures from a car show we went to over the summer. Ahhhh the classics. Cars and music.

December: There is no football game, college or pro, that gives me shivers like Army vs Navy. Yes, it's a sports post. But it's worth a look for the paragraph on Navy senior Zerbin Singleton.

Well, that does it for my version of a 2007 recap. Best wishes to all for a great 2008!

Happy New Year!

  1. Happy New Year, Trav. I see you're all ready for March Madness. My Dawgs are 12-1 as of now and ranked 16th in the nation - yippee!

I bought hubby the complete 2nd season of The West Wing for Christmas. I had gotten him Season One for his birthday. Slowly but sure, we'll get the entire set (I couldn't afford to buy the whole thing at once). I miss it, too. Did you know that Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for the new Tom Hanks movie Charlie Wilson's War? Might have to check that one out.
