Nostalgia

This is the only place I'll see my sweet little ornament this year. The folks are snowbirding in Arizona and the ornament is in a plastic tub of other decorations at their house.

We considered going to get it, but time and weather discouraged that idea.

It's ok though. I know where it is. And the memories are always there.

You can read the story of the ornament here and here.

Happy Holidays and Joyous Yule to you!

Hey Travis, Happy Holidays to you from the Northern tundra (Detroit- we have lots of snow here now!).

2009 is coming quickly and I hope it's great for you and yours.

  1. I loved reading about this in the past, and am sorry you aren't going to see it in person, but yes-memories are still there, and that's wonderful.

    Merry Christmas Trav & Pam.

I recognized the ornament straight away from last year.

Enjoy your white Christmas with Pam and Mr Tucker.

  1. Small memories like that are very precious, aren't they? Cherish them, Trav - they are the things that make Life the best!

Merry Christmas to you and Pam and Mr. Tucker.

I was just talking with Dianne the other day about our holiday trinkets, and whether or not they are considered "valuable" by the world, they are precious to us for the memories they hold.

Fascinating if you think about it. And, they say that time travel isn't possible. ;)

Happy Holiday to you and yours. :)

    Joyous Everything Trav

I am very grateful that Dancing With the Stars brought us together :)

  1. I hope your holidays are lovely, Trav. It has been a pleasure reading your thoughts this year. Hugs to you and Pam!

  1. Hi Trev, I hope you have the happiest of holidays, let us agree to disagree on many things and remain friends......

  1. Maithri: Welcome and Happy Holidays to you!

Rick: I'm definitely looking forward to next year.

Mags: It's good to know exactly where it is, and to have the photograph.

Lois: Exactly. We're getting quite a bit of melt today. But there's one more round of snow due in tomorrow morning.

    Akelamalu: You're right.

Bee: We have pie instead and we're baking the cherry right now!

Jeff: We're really enjoying it today, and I suspect tomorrow will be terrific as we put together our small holiday meal.

Songbird: Indeed. We're making some new memories today too. It's good to know that we're not missing the new traditions we've made together...just delaying them for a few days.

    Cherie: Quite fascinating indeed.

Dianne: Me too. I've enjoyed reading your thoughts and look forward to more as we head to the new year. The times are going to be interesting.

Starr: The Duffy CD was right there on a rack in the check out stand at Freddie's yesterday. I almost grabbed it and now I wish I had. It's on the list for this weekend when we think we can finally get out for some extended fun. Thanks for constantly having music front and center. I may not like all of it, but you've shown me some real gems this year.

Sarge: I don't mind the disagreement and the discussion. Hopefully we can both allow each other our opinions without judging right or wrong. Happy Holidays to you and Miss Bee.

  1. Well if there is any one song you can't live without until we get the Great Thaw (ours is starting. yay!!) holler at me and I will hook you up =)

  1. The ornament is here and in your heart. Thank you for sharing it with us. We were honored to hear the story.

Peace globes lives, as well, on Christmas Eve. For that I am thankful.

    Merry Christmas!

Warmth and Love to you, Pam and Mr Tucker.

  1. Kimmie says:

Travis, we had the same ornaments on our tree when we were kids. And yes, when the heat would kick on the metal wheel would spin just like you described. Now you have sparked a memory in me. My stepdad still has all my mother's ornaments, which were my grandmother's. I will have to see about getting them.

May you have a Blessed and Very Merry Christmas!
    Hugs,
    Kimmie

Awww i remember that story! So nice to see a reprise! I can't make out the picture in the peace globe...a piece of firewood or a bottle of wine?

    I'm confused.

    Always.
