That was my very first Peace Globe.  I hovered around the very first Blog Blast Day in Nov 2006.  I didn't know anything about making a Peace Globe.  I didn't know what to make of the movement either, until I did some research and read some posts, and got to know Mimi.  And then I read about Papa's Marbles, and I knew that I wanted to participate.

Now it's a matter of course.  I am a Peace Blogger.  I am a Peace Activist.  These are my Dona Nobis Pacem contributions:

6 June 2007
7 November 2007
4 June 2008
6 November 2008
5 November 2009

Well done Travis. Looking forward to the big day!

  1. One of our big problems in politics these days is that people don't often seem able to respect without liking. They are indeed two different things.

  1. Blog Blast Eve! It's like Christmas Eve, only no snow.

I'm already beyond excited. Have a wonderful weekend roaming around the world of Peace Globes - I know I'll see you there.

  1. Mine goes up at 12:01 AM - I'm already starting to follow some of the early posters and tweeting and sharing. This should be the biggest Blog blast ever.

  1. 12:01am central time mine explodes onto the scene...well it posts anyway

  1. Michelle says:

What a story and the quotes are brilliant.

Og and the globe with the bottle... lovely! :-)

  1. TopChamp says:

The one about diversity not being about our differences is nonsense - by definition diversity is about difference. Embracing diversity is the same as embracing differences....

    The end.

    I will post today.

  1. Travis, you have done a wonderful job getting the word out there for Peace.

I really liked this post and all the great quotes.

    Peace and love,
    Pam

:-) Love the post, Travis...but, ehm...if you posted that globe in 2006, you must be psychic when Mimi was going to name the day for 2007!! (check the date on the globe, lol!)

    See you tomorrow! :-)

    Peace!

  1. Driller: Putting the final touches to mine this evening, then a quick edit, then I'll set it for 12:01AM.

    GGG: Me too!

NNG: I'm glad you reached out and that I could help!

    Charles: Good point.

Julia: Or New Year's Eve without the fireworks!

Jamie: I'll probably cruise over to Mimi's in a bit to see who has signed in already.

V: It might explode...you never know!

Michelle: I've always liked that Message in a Bottle!

TC: That's true about diversity. But I think you statement about embracing differences is just a way of restating the quote.

Pam: It's always my pleasure to get the word out about Blog Blast Day.

Annelisa: I guess I didn't make that entirely clear. I actually was aware of the Nov 2006 Blog Blast, but didn't participate at that point and didn't make a Peace Globe until the June 2007 Blog Blast, which was the first time I actually participated. There! Clear as mud!

  1. TopChamp says:

Sorry - I wasn't making a statement - I couldn't stop myself correcting the quote. I think that one word is missing. I'm pedantic.. (know a song about that but can't share it in text- wouldn't work).

I forgot to acknowledge the quotes I liked too... My fave:

"Diversity in the world is a basic characteristic of human society, and also the key condition for a lively and dynamic world as we see today." Jinato Hu

  1. TC: No need to apologize. Opinions are certainly welcome here. But I did go check the quote to make sure I hadn't changed the meaning when I posted it. It is accurate as written.

The great thing about our community is we all think in different ways. And that's another thing to celebrate about our diversity. We see things in our own unique way, and that can only be a good thing when we're open to each other and our varied ideas.

  1. Raven says:

What a great collection of quotes. Your quote for today very much reflects what I tried to say in my post. Peace be with you and with us all.

  1. BLOGitse says:

    Peace!
    Greetings from Casablanca, Morocco...

  1. I'm so glad to see this compiled list of quotes. You did an excellent job promoting BlogBlast for Peace aka Dona nobis pacem in the Blogosophere. It's good to see them all listed here for handy reference.

Thank you for everything you've done to encourage me, the movement, and other peace bloggers. I am going out and about now in the land of peace. I will see you there!

  1. Fantastic job of posting great quotes and helping to spread the peace:)

  1. What an interesting collection of quotes! Peace be with you.

Diversity need not be divisive. -I agree, we need to accept that others are unique and learn to live with each other harmoniously :)
